I really enjoy watching all your video, learn so munch on jeti thanks a lot. The flight modes one is really interesting to set the trailing edge for speed and thermal and have the butterfly in the normal mode. One think I try to achieve is to have the butterfly to work in all flight modes. I got caught the other day trying to land with the thermal mode ok my bad… and when I activated the butterly I overshoot the runway.. what could be great is if we touch the butterfly stick no mater the mode it should override and come back to the normal mode where the flaps will go down and the ailerons up.. one way is probably to have a condition switch on the speed and thermal.. somethink like switch and left stick down or couple of clicks down…

That is what I would do. Two logic switches, both AND, one with butterfly closed and thermal switch on, one with butterfly closed and speed switch on. Then use those logic switches as the flight mode switches.

@@cotswoldpilot thanks Harry, I did exactly that and it works like a charm, no more risk tto forgot the flight mode and have a surprise landing without butterfly.

Hallo Harry thanks again for all your superbe and well explained Jeti functions. Do you have a Video On the Mspeed Sensor how to Programm ?

Superbe and clear explanations with good examples ! One question Harry about CARF Hawk that I will finish soon: how much aileron lift on Booth the Sides do. you provide to reduce tipstall in lowspeed flight? Thank you

AT LAST...a clear and comprehensive explanation of Flight Modes!!! Well done, Harry! A tremendouly useful Jeti feature. Thanks a lot. Just one remaining puzzle....the difference between Digital Trim and Flight Mode Trim. Is it simply a matter of degree with FMT offering finer adjustments? TIA, Steve

FMT is a fixed amount, programmed in before flying. Digital trim is the buttons used whilst flying. Both have the same effect where 1% FMT or digital trim is equal to 0.5% normal travel

Harry, can you provide a practical example and would you use DT once in flight to fine tune whatever you did in FMT?

  • @cotswoldpilot

@@mypanicbutton9194 I use FMT to adjust flaps and ailerons for thermal and speed modes on gliders, for the canard trim in landing mode on a CARF Eurosport, aileron reflex in landing mode on a CARF Hawk. All of them involve making elevator trim changes with elevator in DT set to S instead of G because they usually cause a change of trim. But that is not fine tuning the values set in FMT, that is tuning the pitch trim required.

I would like to set a throttle curve for my gas engine but I can not set a functions curve (not highlighted). Do I have to create a flight mode first prior to setting up a throttle curve?

Hi Harry, let me ask you a question. I have 5 flight modes and I want them when switched from one another to change the value on (receiver output) channel 6. Do you know how to achieve it, please? I need it to control flight modes in Flight controller. Thank you 🙂

  • @cotswoldpilot

You cannot change individual channels but you can change a function. Depending on what you want to achieve you can use Flight Mode Separate on: Function Curve set to a constant value; Flight Mode Trim; Dual Rates; Free Mixer. I suspect that a constant curve in Function Curve will be what you want.

@@cotswoldpilot Thanks, I managed to set mixes by mixing flightmode function that I created to flightmode function and used an individual flight mode (FM1, FM2,.....) as a switch using a different value. The flightmode function was assigned to the channel 6. Well, it looks a bit strange but it works 😃

All functions have a curve, you only need flight modes to get multiple curves. However if you have a 12 or 14 without the function curves option then you will need to buy that option from Jeti.

Hello Harry, thanks for your great videos. I’m moving from open tx to Jeti. For a foam jet I use 4 flightmodes. In each mode the flaps have predefined value and in 1 mode I put the flap on a slider. Can you help me out with this with my Jeti DS 12? I have 6 flightmodes and logical switches present. kr Patrick
