Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (Cover by Josh Van Diemen)
Jethro Tull's 'Thick as a Brick' performed by Josh Van Diemen on the banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland.
Thank you everyone for watching and commenting. I'm so happy you took the time. I was on tour with my old band Dream Awake in Europe in 2008 when I shot this on a whim. We were passing through Scotland for some festivals and pub gigs, we camped the night on the shore of Loch Lomond, got up way too early, quickly filmed this, packed up and headed south for Manchester. Lots of comments on the crazy wavering tempo: yes, I look back 11 years later and cringe at that, but I was extremely undisciplined in my youth and had never even heard of practicing to a metronome. I'm a self-taught guitarist and learned this song by pressing my ear the speaker and figuring it out bit by bit. I'm pretty happy with that accomplishment as it's given me so much joy to play this over and over again in pubs all over the world...and on the banks of Loch Lomond! And don't worry, I eventually got a metronome! I still don't use it, but I have one!

13 years ago and till this day no one has a cover of this song better than this video on KZread. Dude you are a legend! Do you do private lessons?
The pleasure was all mine 👍👍
Sings like an eagle that 12 string🍻
Even the voice very similar to Ian Anderson.
But this is his interpretation which in my view is stunning
This is neither "Jethro" nor "Tull". It is Josh Van Diemen!!!!
Alright rewind. Me and my best friend took acid and went to An amusement park. Peaking on acid the whole day and at the end we saw Jethro Tull Live
Dude! Oh my God!!! I'm 60 years old and remember Ian and Tull when most of the folks today weren't even a glimmer of a glimmer of an eye. I've been playing this for years my self and you completely have blown my mind to a place it's never been before. Thank you brother.
This should have 1 million views at LEAST
This is really good. second time listening 👍👍🫶 of course I am singing along!
🔥🔥Jethro Tull rocks and you rocked this!

Loved them, but kind of lost interest in their music after Minstrel in the Gallery.R.I.P. Glenn.
I came here not expecting much, and you blew me away. Great job on this tricky song.
Excellent!!! Totally awesome!!!
Oh WOOOOOOOOW! NOT an easy tune to cover, but you absolutely smashed it - AND on a 12 string. Extremely impressive. Kudos!
An eleven on a scale of one to ten! Nailed it Brother
Bravo 👏👍👋
