Benefit was the first album I ever bought as a 14 year old kid. Had never heard of "Jethro Tull", had not heard any of the music. Just thought the cover was "cool". Now 66, I have probably bought the album over 10 times in different formats, have probably heard it close to 1000 times over the years. Wow. Thank You Ian Anderson for many years of music bliss!!!

We must be about the same age. It took me longer to find JT ... Aqualung. I heard that song one night on my GE clockradio and there was just something about it. Got the album and did not really even have anything to play it on. Then got a Realistic Modulaire stereo system. Then the delight of going back in time Benefit, Stand Up and This was. All so different it really broadened my musical horizons, which were almost nonexistent except for pop music. Also had to buy and rebuy albums from too much play or in different formats.

@@justgivemethetruth My first two Tull albums were Songs From The Wood and Repeat: The Best of Jethro Tull Vol. 2 (I was especially impressed by Bourée on that one), which I found in my parents' house in the early eighties (my brother had left them when he had moved away). My story is similar concerning Tull igniting some musical taste in me, making me look out for more progressive rock and classical music.

My first introduction to the music of Jethro Tull was in high school band after hearing Aqualung. I was duly impressed so I went to pick it up at the record shop only to find they were sold out. However they did have Tull’s most recent release Thick As A Brick....and I’ve been a ardent fan ever since. I backtracked to their past and bought the previous albums...loved them and looked forward to the next release. So now in 2023 we’re looking forward to the very near future for # 23 Jethro Tull- Rök Flöte with great excitement. Thank you Ian Anderson for pressing on and being a lover of catching that artistic muse while it’s fresh and ripe yet again. I love the single “The Navigators” and looking forward to hearing the entire album. You and the band sound phenomenal. And looking forward to the Steve Wilson remixed box set of Jethro Tull’s Broadsword an the Beast and all those great outtakes and associated tracks. God bless and good health to you Ian. Thank you for all the outstanding music Sir.🥁

Finding tickets for the Daytona Beach show. This new album is absolutely spectacular. I love the Icelandic texts, I took my daughter there when she was 5 and we're going again this upcoming year when she turns 14. My Dad named me after Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond. He took up flute playing when he retired. (He's 70 now, I'm 47). Keep up the incredible work, keep well, and looking forward to hearing some of this material live! I hope the records are for sale in Reykjavik, there is a nice vinyl shop next to the Penis Museum...

Mr Anderson, you're output is admirable, I'm glad it's not getting old for you - and I hear you btw, your ethos is sound. I'm already liking the new/old vibe music. You don't look or seem your age btw💜✌️ I need to get back playing again, "doing your bliss" is good advice, but my health and age are hampering me, so time is always precious 💜✌️😊 Can I ask, did you play the flute in the incidental music in the 1980s film "Who Dares Wins"? I'm thinking of the early part of the film with a Scout helicopter in the Brecon Beacons etc. I realise that Jerry and Marc Donahue et al were the "house band" in the film, but there were some haunting flute parts (I heard similar here and in A too). Thanks in advance ✌️🤞💜😊

Have to say, I'm a bit skeptical. I loved Zealot Gene ... ended up loving it after the intital videos didn't really bowl me over. But what I liked about it was that it was human, and relevant. That is what I am not sure about with the fantastical Rok Flote. I mean Norse Mythology is pretty dead and EAR-relevant. First song is a nice if not a bit repetitive and skimpy for a Tull song - but the video is much brighter and more upbeat. Still, pre-ordered it and looking forward. I remember the days of a new Tull album every year, so this is definitely a treat.

I've been a Jethro Tull enthuiast since 1976 when I saw them at the LA Memorial Coliseum with the supporting act Robin Trower. The first time I saw Jethro Tull was in July of 1973 at the Inglewood Fabulous Forum. The supporting act was "Steeleye Dan". I was in my second semester of high school and at that time I had been a (die-hard BLACK SABBATH fan. I sorta liked JethroTull, but they did not really appeal to me until again, I saw them at the LA Memorial Coliseum...by which I was actually there to see Robin Trower the supporting act. My oldest brother is the same age as Ian Anderson...(75) years young, and to this very day I still look up to my very wise older brother. I can say the same about Jethro Tull's IAN ANDERSON. His exceptionally intellectual talented skills as musician guiding the direction of the musical band Jethro Tull for some 55 years is a man that I look up to as well.🧐👍👍

No matter what age when one loses the desire to learn and create it is the beginning of the end. I have listened to Ian/Tull so long I feel as though I know him a bit. Go as long as you can.

I wish Ian and Martin would make music together… pipe dream?

I still need Martin in the band to call it "Jethro Tull". That said, this new stuff is good.

I would have preferred a real Jethro Tull album for a change, such as one consisting of unreleased songs from the glorious agricultural period (Heavy Horses, Songs From the Wood). Or how about an enchanting Elizabethan heritage compilation in co-operation with Amazing Blondel?

Ian, we need to talk about the close-up, additional camera shot of your obscured groin area at 3:08 You are far too deliberate and measured for this to have been an accident. Are you saying that the codpiece has indeed been representative of something conceptual all these years?
