I have the Olight version. I really like it except that it doesn't have a tailcap button. I really like that Jetbeam included that with it.

I like it too, they mostly got it right with the body design

It does interest me a lot over the Olight however the fact that you can't replace the battery is a no-go for me I just don't have any lights that you cannot change the battery on thx Mr B

To me it looks better overall than the Olight (functionality and USB-C), but I agree I'm just not liking the built in battery concept for any products like this.

Are you a one or two flashlight person, or do you buy them regularly? I am the latter and own a whole bunch. I keep buying new lights. I still have my old Olighrs and Thrunites from 7-8 years ago, but don't use them anymore because are vastly outclassed by modern lights. The old replaceable batteries work just fine, but I just light the performance and functionality of the new lights better. So that raises the question... Are you really going to replace batteries on these things? I mean lot of new lights even with replaceable batteries are customized ones. And replacing that, cost usually half of the light itself. So why would you spend money on that, when you can get a brand new better light with new battery and performance and warranty for not much more? These batteries in my experience last a very long time. 5 years easily. The only ones that died on me are super small ones like CR123R, or lights that I've left in sub zero temps regularly. I mean even they still work fine just not getting the ultra long run times anymore. So in my mind, sealed batteries are just fine. I'm not going to replace the battery for what they cost and the age of the light. It's like a modern cell phone.

all I'm saying is I would like lights to have replaceable batteries so that I can buy more take one light with me but have a long run time with multiple batteries in my pocket, like my Fenix LD30 and Fenix PD36RV2

@@joekasperek1086 Meh. I rather just take a bigger light with a larger capacity battery. Like olight marauder 2 that can do 400 lumens for 22 hours non stop. It's less to carry than taking a single 18650 light, and a bunch of batteries. And again, most being custom batteries that cost arm and a leg. And on a flat flashlight, it's 100 per cent going to be a custom proprietary battery. There is a point of diminishing return, and you are way over thinking your needs.

@@jamesmin2837 New laws in Europe coming in will mean makers will have to allow user replaceable cells (without any tools) on phones. That's how it should be and how it was. It's wasteful to have products which are disposable. You can get phone batteries replaced, but it's a hassle and many don't. In short it's dumb to have built in cells, as many of these devices are good enough for many years. They did it to boost sales, so people would "upgrade" their old handset/phone when the battery wasn't performing well. With torches a user replaceable battery offers 2 advantages, you can simply swap it out when it's flat (ie longer run times), carry spares etc. And you are not stuck with a piece of not useful metal when the cell is warn out. Some of these models are using high power output, much higher drain on the battery. The use of custom cells is to increase profits, with more expensive batteries. I've not kept any custom cell products sent, I can't stand it to be honest it's a pain. Most of Olight's range is custom cells and it's anti consumer IMO - that's also why I have 0 interest in their products.

I like it. I'm a fan of jetbeam! Definitely love the warm color as well. They should definitely put a cover on that USB port. I understand it's water resistant, but what about dirt, lint(pocket carry) sand, etc. Other than that, great job jetbeam.

Yes it might have worked having a sliding port cover, otherwise the design is mostly I think very good. The LED tint some will like it, others won't just the way it is really!

As I'm writing this it was 5 minutes since I bought one of these on eBay 😂 I've been wanting a "flat light" for some time now and looked at the rovyvon e23, olight arkfeld pro and the nitecore edc25. I really like the design of the rovyvon and the fact that it's a hybrid but it would have been nice if that to had a laser. The only issue with this one that I could think of without ever handled it is tha warm light. But I guess I'll find out when it gets here 😉😂

See what you think it's less obvious after a while because your eyes adjust to the colour, the camera shows it as I fix the colour balance, if I did auto it would look cooler. I don't mind it

Thank you for this comprehensive (p)review! My EDC is an Arkfeld Pro Flat, but both the rotary and the face(?) switch are activated too easily, so it's not unusual for me to notice a green dot on the floor or a lighted shirt tail and grumble about how that really shouldn't happen. All of which is to say that I'm happy to hear about a little more resistance in this one. Looks like JETBeam just set a stretch goal if they get $80k in backing on their Kickstarter campaign: an LED upgrade from Luminus SST-40 to Luminus SFT-40. I don't know enough about either to be excited or ho-hum; any thoughts?

I've not used the Olight so it's hard to directly compare, but I'm happy with the switches on this the rotary one isn't easy to move by accident, nor the switch inside it, good resistance on both - same for the base/tail switch it's solid and firm, requires fair bit of pressure to activate both half and full press. This is how it should be IMO for a product like this. They seem to have generated a good bit of interest (I think the design is the best I've seen so far for this type of model), they will probably hit that goal for the LED upgrade - I'd imagine they might doe more like this because it's clearly done well on the kickstarter campaign.

I like the tail switch but would like to see a 1 lumen mode.

Does the 2000lm mode does the job constant or will it drop down to for e.g. 700lm after a couple of minutes?

Nitecore has more focus beam and higher candela by quite a bit (Depends on what you want) 6800cd v 22500cd

@@tizben They are quite different really despite being similar in shape, pros and cons for both JetBeam did nail the body design almost perfectly (perhaps type C cover but it is waterproof), the Nitecore is a nice improvement on the EDC27 switches are firmer. Get which one works best for you.

It's more yellow to my eyes, but it does have a strong tint - not everyone will like it, some might though

@@MrBazReviews The Corps would purchase these in a moment IF the battery (pack) was user replaceable. Otherwise the way we see it, it becomes $90 of trash down the road.

@@royalexplorationcorps.1179 I suspect things might change as new laws in Europe for phones and other devices must have user replaceable batteries (without any tools). They did a nice enough job on the design I like it, the switches etc.
