I just love the comradery among this group. Merlin, Jimmy, Chad, Paul, Matt, Rory, and Robby. I swear that no matter what it is, someone seems to know how to do it, or someone who has already done it. Need some part, let me check my stash, or I know a guy. They all seem like good guys just to be around and spend some time with.

Back in the 70s my dad's friend bought a brand new Corvair with dual carbs, He stopped by the house and insisted that I (@16 yrs old) take it out for a test drive. We lived on along 2 lane straight road and when I hit 105 mph, the front end floated up, and it drifted into the other lane! I got it under control, took it home and told him good luck!......

I really like the electric fan idea on the Vair engine. We had a 62 Monza and that always was flinging the belt off it seemed like? Well It could have been my dad revving the crap out of it all time also LOL. I`m a Corvair fan fore sure. I`m glad you went with this setup Jimmy. Love the chrome shroud as well and the Spyder turbo setup. Waiting patiently to hear it run.

I'm thinking you're going to need some wheelie bars like a drag car, but instead of two little wheels, put a 55 gallon plastic drum between the drag bars. Or a big tire.

I have a similar buggy I am putting together which also uses a highly modified Corvair engine mounted mid-ship into a Porsche four-speed transaxle. It is called the Deserter GS and was designed to set FTD at the tracks on race day in the SCCA Pro Solo auto crossing divisions. I flipped the ring gear so I can run the Corvair in the natural rotation and it shares the same engine as my 1965 Corvair Fitch Sprint Corsa which is a well campaigned vintage SCCA C production auto crosser. What we will both have at the end are thousand pound go karts with 200 hp. Yippeee!!!
