Jet Powered Blower

Made a turbine powered blower, mainly to de-ice aircraft wings from frost, but it can be powered up significantly to blow leaves, snow, melt and dry ice on sidewalks, or blow a pack of rabid raccoons out of the yard.
Its computer controlled, auto start and creates up to 52 pounds of thrust at full power. Ear plugs required.

I get 3 days off every week but they're Wednesday Thursday and Friday, and when I get home I have like barely an hour and 15 minutes for myself because it's late as fuck and I have to be awake by 5:30. Shit gets super old. For me the worst part is the mental game of having Friday night be my "get ready for work night" while most people are going "fuck yeah time to relax" and going out with friends or staying up late. But the pay is good so I deal with it, for now at least. Looking for a different job until I can get back into the Army because this routine is making me pretty bitter.

@@zagreus5773 the production (or lack thereof) is casual. A guy made a cool invention and his friend recorded it while they tested the thing. The video is straight to the point and lasts what it needs to. If a youtuber made this video you'd have a vlog of the build, lots of cuts, intense drama music, you know the drill. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I miss the charm in videos like this where people act like people and not like celebrities.

This video taught me two things. One, that at some point it doesn't make sense to get a more powerful blower, as power to move objects must be dropping off exponentially with increasing distance, so at some point stop chasing power and move the nozzle closer to the object. And two, this guy is totally badass.

@@ohioman4646 Not really, jet exhaust cool off extremely quickly due to the quick expansion of gas, and air is an very poor conductor of heat. This is why contrails form behind planes at high altitudes, the exhaust from combustion is water and CO2, and the water in the exhaust freeze to ice within a couple of feet of the jet engine. Water cannon is definitely the better crowd control. Reasonably safe and humane, while still effective at breaking up crowds.

It's a good demonstration why the M1 Abrams is not combat effective in a real war. On a full complement of gas, it gets 13 hours of idle power vs 40+ for a diesel. That means you get one night of overwatch and by morning your tank is an 83 ton small arms shelter.
