SCAM ALERT: yes there’s another scam running saying you’ve won this guitar it’s fake and trying to steal your money so tell them where to go please 😤 ... So as I try to stop this the list of blocked words gets longer so if you ever leave a comment that doesn't appear, it either includes a blocked word (i.e. congratulations or similar), or maybe an external link which I don't allow on this channel. I never give out prizes so be suspicious of anything that suggests otherwise. Cheers!

I have a lot of respect for people that create a company from nothing and give people great options with guitars that punch above their price. It's nice for the youngsters to start with a decent enough guitar. If the Slovenian owner watches this video well done to you. Thank You for showcasing and reviewing this nice affordable Tele. Nice color too.

These are manufactured in China for a Slovenian owner. It's still a quid an hour for labor (or less) servitude to make these great affordable guitars.

@@chancemiller9340 To be fair thats what they make in China in most factories. All guitars makes thats how they are made. I won't hold that against a small brand when billion dollar companies do the same. Its up to the Chinese government to raise the standards of labour pay and that means we will pay a little bit more but if its fair to those workers thats how it will be.

yeah chinese labour conditions are not up to par with most western factories - but the decades old story about chinese factories being virtual slave labour are kinda exaggerated. Not to say there are not horrendous conditions for some chinese workers - just go read about the giant Foxcom factories, who produce for Apple and other tech giants. BUT chinese manifaturing has come quite a long way in the last 20 years. I remember Behringer (specifically Behringers german owner who got a lot of shittalk in the biggest german-speaking musical forum of the day) trying to really do big public outreach, showing of videos and photos from their big chinese factory, must have been 15 years ago: even back then they basically tried to demonstrate: its not some dark sweatshop where people are confined to a tiny desk to slave away assembleing circuts. Just checking real quick led me to another video tour of the chinese epiphone factory from 2016 here on youtube. So they really try to show to the world that it looks way different than what they imagine. With modern chinese production, most workers in these industries are skilled labourers and getting treated that way. I found a blog called "chinese labour bulletin" writing about a strike in a musical instruments factory in Zhongshang in September 2023. Wasn't able to find more detailed information on the spot, but I would really like to actually get the details: what brands use which chinese factory? what are conditions in this specific factory? I would very much like to put my money where I at least know the labour is above par for chinese standards, instead of just assuming China equals slave labour (while assuming Indonesia doesn't).

@@sunriseshell I believe the jet neck is better than the CV but the CV has alnico pickups that most prefer the sound of, however it's two or three times more expensive! The jet butterscotch is very orange so be warned if you order that online, you could be disappointed, the other finishes are great imo, I don't mind orange but that's how I would describe it, others say it's a custard color or mustard so they seem to vary a lot.

Still, guitarists don't want a $200 guitar no matter how good it is. Do a little work on the Jet, maybe use stainless steel frets and put on a $100 bridge and some Seymour Duncans (or some boutique pickups that you wind yourself) and price it at $4000 then you will have people interested, LOL!

I enjoy all the content, no matter cheap or $$$ and everything in between. I personally really enjoy taking a less expensive squier, old 80s Greco or tokai and removing everything so it's just the wood and "rebuilding" it by replacing just about everything that isn't wood. We are in the golden age of pickup selection/hardware selection. Just replacing pickups and pots/switches/wiring on a cheaper instrument is a huge upgrade. You also end up with an instrument that is totally unique.

That might be the greatest thing about the Jets: its not an online brand. They actively managed to get these guitars into A LOT of local stores. For me its easier to get my hands on a Jet than virtually any other budget brand, also enabeling the legacy local music stores to compete with the overwhelming online budget juggernauts like Harley Benton.

I bought the Sea Foam green S-style JS-300 a few weeks ago and can confirm that neck has rolled edges and a great fret job-although the tops were quite rough from new, sorted with 0000 grade steel wool. My example also has some nice flame and birdseyes on the neck. Took me a while to get the action and trem set up but it plays really well now, and the pickups sound good. Tone and volume knobs have a nice 'resistant' smooth feel.

Great! Can’t wait to get on the train home and watch…..got a Jet JS-300 on tuesday….😀🤘🎸 Ok, so i watched on the way and that was fun! My Jet Strat copy JS-300 is 3.27 kgs which was a pleasant surprise. I got it thinking i was going to mod it, but for now i don't have the urge, it is really good! I had to take off the neck to remove the scratchplate and the neckpocket is a proper tight fit ( my double the price Squier Jazzmaster isn't nearly as well machined....). So i went over the frets and restringed it, setup was slightly changed ( i'm trying Primo slinkys 9,5-44) no need for a neck adjust though. Ok, the bridge is def. not made of finest steel and was decked when it arrived. I got it floating and in tune and compared it to my Fender MIM 2017 Roadhouse deluxe strat and to my ears it sounds strattier than the strat with the noiseless pups....if that makes any sense....anyhow, it plays like a dream and will be in regular use, cheers Colin, have a great weekend!🎸🤘🎸

I love that neck work (I thought it was a Suhr initially before seeing the title) and the profile looks very comfy and rounded. I've found that many import or Asian bodies having the large neck route will also accommodate a P90, which on a Tele is heaven. Humbucker, too. I have one that I have the original with the single, another loaded pickguard for a humbucker and one for a P90 so I can swap them out anytime for great tones. The guts are obviously cheap enough to upgrade as well. Mess around with your pickup height for the muddy neck. I'm always amazed by how just small adjustments of the heights, one direction or the other, can change the whole guitar's tone and sound completely.

I finally got round to getting a JT300 today. It was really between the Squier Classic Vibe Tele, the Sire T3 and the Jet and now I have it I'm very pleased with my choice. Thanks to this video for helping me decide. I just had to bring it up to pitch and it plays great right out of the box, great action, lovely tone, lighter than other Tele's I've played too. Cheers, love your videos, you are a diamond geezer :)

Thanks for this week’s episode, Colin. I’ve got two Jets already and I’m always tempted to get another. Maybe consider the JT350 with the humbucker for the budget shootout. Still within the budget range, just a little more towards the top end. I picked mine up for £230

Nice guitar. It's encouraging to know that good quality can be gotten so inexpensively. It certainly makes it easier to acquire new things when they can be gotten for not much more than pocket money. I thought it sounded great in the middle position. That guitar has two flaws for me though, it's not butterscotch blond with a black pickguard, and it doesn't have a telecaster shaped headstock. As I've said before, I'm a guitar traditionalist. It doesn't have to say Fender on the headstock, as long as it is a good guitar and mostly looks the part. Thanks as always for the great videos, and I'm looking forward to more T-type reviews.

I like the sounds from this one. Not at all harsh or shrill. I am tempted! Another budget brand which seems to get a lot of positive reviews is Artist Guitars. They have got Teles from about £170 and a Thinline which is only about £10 more.

The guitar looks and sounds brilliant. There seems to be no grounding paint or foil in the pickup and control cavities to stop picking up hum and RF interference, it would be worth adding this yourself for the low cost of the guitar. Brilliant video and chat. 👍

Shell pink is the bomb! I was dithering over buying a Squier VI until I found an FSR one in shell pink... Sold! hahaha.. FWIW I would go with a "Fender full range humbucker" style or a filtertron in the neck and a 4 way switch. If the pots are a bit too easy to turn you can try putting a washer or rubber O ring on the pot shaft between the control plate and the bottom of the knob, might help.

Great review as usual. I have a 'London City Comet' T style guitar, which you probably don't know but which is a bit of a secret among Dutch guitaristas. Their amps were legendary in the late sixties, early seventies: a bit like the HiWatt amps from that era. Used to be made in Amsterdam, but these days made in China (or thereabouts) - of course - and within your budget price range (I think I paid about 200 euros for mine about 10 years ago. I don't think prices have changed all that much. I'm quite fond of mine although it may not have as much twang as a Tele should have. In fact I owned a real Fender Tele (to be honest: made in Mexico) for a while and didn't like it much. It was just too harsh and brittle to my ears. Mine has a nice mellow blues tone on the bridge pup. I like the middle position to enhance an acoustic guitar, country style. The neck pup is OK but I tend to use other guitars for that purpose. I don't know if they sell them in England. Anyway, keep up the good work! Greetings from the other side of the Channel.

Hey, just want to say thanks for this detailed review. I was cautious about this guitar because I haven't heard about it before, but I saw a lot of 4-5 star reviews on the store website. So after watching this video I knew what I was getting myself into (less than ideal pots, good fretwork and so on). And I can say that it was pretty much spot on. My guitar was flawless, the neck is incredible, and I really like the butterscotch blonde color. But the volume pot is very scratchy, so I will probably replace it. Other than that I can't believe my luck, because I got it on sale for less than $100, brand new! Now I wonder what their most expensive guitars are like. I really like the look of their relic JS-800.

Fun! Rosewood / Bone . . . well, yeah! Seems a good 'un! It sounded good, too - better than some I've heard. I tried the Squier 40th Anniversary Red Tele last week with reasonably high expectations but nope. I just think I'm not made for Teles. Same thing happened with the Sire Larry Carlton one despite it having all the right appointments. So it goes, I guess.

Hi Colin, well i was going to say squier bullet tele as compo and i guess it still is but fender has de spect it and put the price up (typical). It used to be string through but no more looking forward to more films on this, the jets neck looks amazing at this price and is going to take some beating. Great vid as usual Col cheers Steve

This review helped me pull the trigger and buy another Tele (Jet JT300 also but blue instead) at around 4 months ago. Coming from a used Squier Affinity it's night and day how better the Jet is, and at a far cheaper price from the usual way guitar's are priced in my country. Only issue is that I've been having strings break more often (mostly near the bridge), but I guess it comes from playing it much more than my previous guitar.

Great that they are able to use rosewood, some of that light Indian laurel looks awful to me. I guess some of the laurel is dyed to make it dark, if that’s the case I wonder how that process ages. Thanks for the unfamiliar brand review!
