I made a terrible mistake according to the flesh a few weeks ago. And after I realized I had been setting myself up for it for some time with my eyes and my thoughts. I had been celibate for almost 3 years prior. After I cried and repented and prayed and fasted I felt God cleanse me..again… And I believe He let me know I won’t get another mulligan. It is time to be a grown mature Christian in all my thoughts and actions. To please my God. I love You Father and I thank You with tears for Your mercy.

Yes, of course we are going to mess up, but we only have to repent and ask for forgiveness, 1 John 1:9 It's the enemy that condemns us and points a finger at us, but the Holy Spirit convicts us, not beats us up. I know I belong to Jesus, and when I sin, such as wrong words, thoughts or actions, I immediately repent and I also find I have to forgive, not just others, but myself. Forgiveness is not a feeling, but a choice, regardless of how I feel. Don't listen to anyone but the Holy Spirit.

Dear friend, The Lord helped me, when I understood , eating biblically , for one thing , and then , choosing to eat no carbs, A friend told me , the whiter the bread the sooner you're dead, SO I put that to work in my body, I stopped eating sugars or food that creates sugers, I also researched how the liver needs our kindness , and our pancreas and gall bladder need our cooperation, Then they all work together for the good, The other BIG THING , SPRITUALLY IS, there is usually grief involved in over eating , IT was for me and for my best friend, Prayers of confession and DELIVERANCE , CHANGED EVERYTHING, HUNGER WENT AWAY, SADNESS LEFT , , btw, cidervinegar is a brilliant cleanser , of the body, Jesus refused vinegar , he didn't need it, WE do. ,it is best watered down, ❤

If we submit to God He will sanctify us, we must be willing to take up our cross and follow Him, if we don't reckon ourselves dead to sin and alive in the Spirit we will struggle and keep giving way to the flesh and making it stronger. What we cant do ourselves Christ does for us pray and ask Him to do what you can't.

Colossians 2:20-23 ESV If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations- [21] "Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch" [22] ( referring to things that all perish as they are used)-according to human precepts and teachings? [23] These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.

So, how do you overcome this? This, fleshly nature? How do you "crucify the flesh?" (I'd ask Derek if I could). Jesus died once for all but it sounds like the "flesh" isnt crucified once for ever when you give your life to Jesus? Because we all seem to keep battling with it? You need to live according to the Spirit. You crucify the flesh by humbling yourself, regular prayer, fasting, reading the word, going to church, taking communion where the Lord is present, confession etc. Your ego must cease and God must reign, that way you can escape the sin as long as you continue to abide in Christ. Not by your own power, which would be the flesh, but God working in you through the room you make for the Holy Spirit to guide you. 1 John 3:6-9 "Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." The new birthed "I" in Christ does not sin nor can sin. It's the flesh that continues to sin. Decreasing the flesh is not the resolution, but increasing in obedience, making yourself lower by humbling yourself, does the trick for the Spirit to guide you. Unlike demons who dominate, the Spirit only works in us, if we grant him access to every door of the apartment that is our being. Surrender and let God live through you.

I'm trying to figure that out myself. One thing you can do is fast and ask Jesus what needs to be done. Fasting for me is so difficult but I know it gets God's attention.

No, but you’re free to believe as you wish. God allows. Never open His Word w/o asking for *Understanding, Knowledge, Wisdom, Discernment, & a Revelation of His Holy Word in your heart.* That all comes *from His Holy Spirit.* 🕊 Which, if He isn’t in full operation in you, you’re left to your own misunderstandings & misinterpretations of His Holy, Inerrant Word. Who's Jesus coming for? "They have crucified the flesh" 😂😂😂 what nonsense. The flesh is certainly enmity against God, but Jesus crushes the carnal mind, not us.

Paul expect jesus would come back in his lifetime. Clearly it didnt happen.

Jesus does not come back for any church or Christian. That is against scripture. Jesus returns for the believing 10 lost tribes of the house of Israel. He did not come the first time for "Christians or the church" and he will not return for them either. Anyone who believes he is coming for the "church or christians" us terribly Scripturally illiterate.

He's "Cherry-Picking" just like all Religious Quacks : Pull out Individual Verses to Support a Position, Without Regard for the Context of the Surrounding Text, or Use a Portion of the Bible Without Taking into Account the Overall Message of the Bible, or Try to Interpret to Support Your Position by Using a Verse Without Regard to the Intent of the Writer. Usually, the "Cherry-Picker" has a Pre-Determined Agenda or Position and uses Portions of Scripture to Support a Position that the Person Using the Term Doesn't Agree With. Cherry Picking is When You Only Pick Data that Supports Your Point, Without Trying to Represent the Overall Shape of the Data. This Question Seems to Have Attracted a Number of Cherry Picked Answers by People Who Have Not Actually Read the Bible, But Feel They Can Counter Someone’s Choice of Verses With Their Own. That’s What Cherry Picking Is. Authentic Interpretation Relies on Reading The Entire Text a Number of Times with a Sympathetic Desire to Understand what the Original Authors Were Trying to Say, and What That Means in the Wider Context. People Who Have Done That Will Certainly Provide Quotations Which are Relevant, But these Quotations Will be Representative and Contextualised. That’s Not Cherry Picking. Reading it all Once (Or Claiming To) and Then Using Verses out of Context Is Cherry Picking. The Difference is Only Obvious to Someone Who Has Actually Read the Text a Number of Times.
