You’ve completely missed the true gospel if you believe and teach Jesus came to teach us how to live so we can live with God again. Jesus came to show us it is impossible for us, through religious works, to be righteousness enough to please God. Unless you put your faith in Jesus for your righteousness you are lost. After believing, we are called to good works, but those works do not give us any more righteousness or save us. Even Jesus says: “... In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’” Luke 17:10

Yet wasn't it Jesus who said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments"? Didn't he also tell the rich young man what to DO to attain eternal life? And etc. etc. etc.
