I have Analog Hitec Servo and a Flysky FS-GT3B 2.4Ghz radio and they work just fine.

Jester lost his waterproof when I installed the Steel CVDs. They rust really easy with water.

hi can u help me about the hitec horn for it coz i broke the horn that comes with the servo, whats your horn what model and brand coz the stock horn wont fit on the servo thanx

nice upgrade...btw why don't you get 2 servos for jester...o one final seggestion if you get the full sized e revo name it joker cuz its kind of like a bigger jester...get it

Thanks for this helpful tutorial! Do you know any good servos with metal gears for the 1/16 Summit that are water proof and very easy to install? I've read a lot of good things about the 5086WP, but it seems to be very difficult to make it fit in a Traxxas 1/16 model. Installing the 5085mg seems much easier but it's not water proof and I don't want to resort to solutions like Plasti Dip.

Nope not waterproof. I'm going to have to make extra sure what I'm doing if I get another Servo. Thanks for the info!

Hi! i'm writing from italy, i'm pretty new in the hobby and i really need some backup. I put a HS-82MG microservo on my MERV and i had steering problems getting also my wheels stuck. At the end i'm sure this microservo is not a good one for the MERV. i had problems in settling the servo saver arms too. i heard about many others having troubles with this item above all because of this servo is not digital. i also had to modify the chassis in order to insert the servo. you did it aswell.I noted that you made an upgrade putting exactly this microservo. how did you feel about it??. now i broke the stock one (tra2080) and i really wanna get a good servo for my merv. i guess afer you installed the HS-5085mg you rushed to put in a try your truck. would you reccomend this servo?? how actually it works for the merv and what about any installing problems?? thanks in advance and looking forward your answer!!

it is possible to install the the Hi-TECH 5085 micro MG servo into the 1/16th Mini E-revo VXL without any issue to the chassis but you have to put it in at an angle to the chassis,and the stock horn will not fits 100% it does fit and works properly and you have to use the screw that came with the servo in order to fit, but If you looking for the best servo,I'm not going to recommend this servo because it's not waterproof,the SAVOX IP 67 micro servo is the one that I highly suggest because it's way stronger then the hi-tech servo and it's waterproof

Does the screw that you to screw the arm onto the servo come with it or do you need to buy it and if you do need to buy it,what are the dimensions?Thx Jason

The screw is included with the servo.

Does the stock servo arm that comes with 1/16 erevo work perfectly with the hs 5085 servo or will I have to buy a different servo arm or use the included ones?

The stock servo arm is what I used but it's not a perfect fit. However they do include an arm for you to use.

does the stock servo horn fit this? And do you possibly have a link for an aluminum one?

Yes the stock horn does fit. It's not a 100% fit but it works.

Are you supposed to take off the white circle piece on the bottom of the servo? I am installing this right now and I don't know

Yeah take it off and replace it with the servo horn.

does this mean that Jester isn't water proof anymore?

What happens if the servo gets wet and can it brake if two drops get on it

For not being waterproof it holds up against water decently. It can get lightly splashed with water without issue but more then that and it can get ruined.

The Traxxas servos work fine with 2.4ghz

Which servo is better: Bluebird 390 or HiTec HS-5085mg? Also, do you have to use the included servo arm in order for it to fit?

I wish I knew which was better but I'm not sure. All I can say is that I like the HiTec and I have no complaints about it. As for the servo arm, I was able to use the arm on the RC. But you do get a better connection if you use the included servo arm.

I dont see why an analog servo wont work with 2.4.

hy there i just installed 2 of the hs-5085 MG & i have a problem i cant meak it steer at the right way so when i turn right it gos left & the opposit way as well i do still have the same original radio that came withe it the 2.4 ghz soo do u know can i fix it thank you

You're going to have to reprogram the Remote to reversed servo steering.

You're lucky. It really seems to be a 50/50 chance that they don't work.

I had 2 traxxas servos in my erevo and they both got weak and broke!!! I called traxxas and they said the mini erevo was NOT meant to have duel servos... the two servos will fight with each-other and destroy each other! idk if its because of the car design or servo design, so you better research that to make sure you dont destroy $70 of servos PS is that servo waterproof?

no, I have this one and it is unfortunately not waterproof - there are ways that you can waterproof it on your own if you want to

TheLightningExplorers The Driveshafts are steel. So they're rust if they get wet. So I decided I didn't need a waterproof servo.
