I feel compelled to say that Jessie not only did this justice, but didn't overdo it. Her runs, stylistic choices, and overall performance can, at times, be too much; this is definitely not the case here. Each note was plucked from the harmonious heavens above and delivered with emotion, love, and dedication to her craft as an absolutely riveting vocalist. Until now, I've heard many covers and thought I knew which was my favorite. Now I know, without a doubt, that this is my favorite cover of Purple Rain. Prince would be so proud!

Had a deep discussion with my 2 sons today about why I think Jessie j is the best female vocalist I’ve ever heard!!! Was quite an interesting discussion!!Im 60 And they are 30 years younger!Summed up my opinion by saying only Jessie j can sing a Whitney Houston’s song as good as Whitney could sing it!!!

There is no other Prince but she is the Princess. That boy is crying like the Holy Spirit entered his soul.

All this while i thought Nicole shwarzeneger had the best tributes of prince "purple rain" but goddemn it Jessie j dhe killed me with the voice technic

Duet Jessie J. & Prince performing this song - that would be the perfect combination. Prince was my only true idol in 90'. This cover is the best version i've ever heard. Amazing piece of voice, look (her outfit is directly in Prince's style) and emotions.

The soul, buildup and vocal range -- all impeccable! Still give me chills everytime I listen to this performance.

This is one of the most incredible things I have ever seen in my life. Absolutely stunning.

I have followed Jessie J from the beginning she was always and still is a legend! Hands down one of the best artist out there! She is truly amazing!

I started following her when she was still going by Jessica Cornish on KZread with 10k views on Big White Room and said immmediately "she's going to be famous". Little did those 10k people and I know that this world-class talent would become the musical goddess she is today. She's only gotten better with time and its amazing to see.

I’ve been listening to music and great vocalist all my life,my dad was a Welsh miner and he could sing,very very good!!!Tho he sadly not here anymore.he taught me to listen well to appreciate a great vocalist and Jessie j and Luther the simply the best I’ve ever heard !

Just a spectacular performance. True artistry. Jessie J deserves more recognition.

I still believe this is the best version of purple rain. Prince was a legend, but Jessie J is not from this world in this performance.

Jesse J is beyond perfection. She performs flawlessly. I loved seeing the audience members being moved to tears.

She is just a breathtaking performer - I love how the crowd is in awe of her. Her Chinese lines were beautiful and such an honorable nod to the culture. Well done.
