Jessie Buckley - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

Ойын-сауық

The final of I'd Do Anything, part 1. After being turned down by two drama schools, and losing out to Jodie Prenger for the part of Nancy, Jessie had the last laugh when she was accepted into RADA (the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art). Jodie by that time had faded into obscurity.

The show was a vehicle for Jessie and Samantha but the judges overdid their brief to criticise them enough to get sympathy and avoid Jodie winning on the housewives' vote. Poor old Jodie was only there to make up the numbers an appeal to these shows' core audience but she ended up a threat and eventual (unwanted) winner.

It's a wonder if any Irish performer has a career if they spend any time in the UK. This program was skewed to destroy Jessie thankfully Graham and Andrew and occasionally Cameron had a sense of natural justice and stopped Denise and John from their clever attacks on top of the ugly hairdo and ugly green outfits she was forced to wear. Both Hozier and U2 skipped Britain and focussed on making it in the US first. I don't know how Jessie survived this to make it to the US. If she won this dog and pony show it would have stuck her in UK and it might have finished her.
