    What's I find so amazing about Jessica Lange is every time she appears on one of these round table sessions is the state of awe by all the other talent at the table. She's really as good as it gets.

    She has 2 Oscars , 3 Emmys , 1 Tony , 5 Golden Globes , 2 SAG and still she has no Life Achievement Award for bigger organisations like AFI , HFPA , Kennedy Centres etc , I hope in 2018 if it's a woman to be honoured then it's Jessica Lange who gets the AFI honour coz she deserves it I mean what a eclectic career she has and is still going on thanks to television which has been great to older woman

    To me, this is such a powerful table. Jessica Lange has proven herself as one of the best actressed in the world. Nicole Kidman is right in the middle of that with great performances. Moss is the best younger actress right now. Just watch 'The Handmaid's tale', 'Her Smell' and 'The Invisible Man' and you'll see for yourself.

    Listening to Jessica commenting on Joan Crawfords horrible childhood and how hard she worked to create "Joan", made me think of Marilyn Monroe. Her backround was also traumatic, but was a success in spite of it. She spent many hours perfecting "Marilyn", also enduring potentially risky plastic surgery ( at that time), in order to become the irresistible bombshell. Both of them were heavy drinkers. I wonder if the alcohol was used to wash away Norma Jean and Lucille, with the intent to keep Marilyn and Joan alive. RIP to you both!

    @lexi219

    Ehh, she has a point, but it's because women weren't this prominent in politics until recently coupled with this conservative rally against "political correctness." She says we haven't seen this much misogyny in this **political climate**, which is well documented in how often things like female politicians'/political commentators menstruation/menopause is thrown around like a weapon (especially during this last election). Male politicians are proudly pulling out terms like "legitimate rape" and "grabbing [women] by the pussy." Men are constantly telling Hillary to "smile" and stop being so "bossy." Fox "News" is over there calling Senator Kamala Harris "hysterical" for trying to get Jeff Sessions to answer simple questions in a Senate hearing yesterday. While these definitely aren't new comments, they have never been *this* prominent in a political arena. All of that alongside the insanely huge collective fight against women's health in politics has made this a hallmark misogynistic political climate.

    ageism is a borderline fallacy with older women in acting. it comes down to the fact that they have used their good looks to get parts, and now that they don't have good looks, so they are upset that they can't get parts as beautiful women. being over 40 is supposed to make you more grounded, they're living in the past.
