Jessi is originally a singer and she debuted as one. She said rapping is her hobby and she does it for fun. She debuted in 2007 as a singer but nobody took notice of her but her career took off in 2013-2014 when she joined the first season of Unpretty Rapstar and made a major impact and she came close to winning the entire show. That's why you guys probably know her of rapping because it was the genre that boosted her career into major status.
