south koreans really do put a lot of production quality to their entertainment, whether it be music or films or shows. The dancers that were featured in this music video are from a korean show called Street Woman Fighter (SWF). It's a female dance crew battle competition. For one of their challenges, each dance crew had to choreograph a dance to this song. And Jessi picked the dance choreo she liked the best to be featured in her music video. And the music video features about 5 of the dance crews I think. Jessi gave most of the screen time to the dancers, she only appeared at the end (she's the one with the big blue jacket). Jessi is a korean american, she was born and raised in NY and NJ, so she a real real gangsta haha. She moved to korea in her teens so her mastery of the korean language isn't as good as her english. Jessi debuted when she was 15, so she's been in this music game a long time. After you get through some of her songs that other ppl have suggested to you, you can check out Jessi Killing Voice Dingo, she sings/raps short snippets of like 8 of her songs. Her live voice sounds the same as on her recorded tracks. Jessi was also on a korean female rapper survival show a few years ago, she won 2nd place. There was a lot of beef and drama lol. Check out Jessi vs. Lil Cham Rap Battle clip with english subtitles, it's pretty funny how Jessi destroys Lil Cham.

Jessi is the one in the blue that appeared at the end. Jessi is Korean American born in New York and raised in New Jersey. She moved to Korea at 15 and started her career in 2005. She is in K hip hop. Also her name is Jessica Ho, so when she says cold blooded ho it’s her.

There was never a time where Kpop couldn't rival Western output in terms of production or dance - they had a different audience altogether. I have been studying the Kpop music industry for 12 years now and let me tell you, even though it's evolving, it was never behind. Their production, their structure, their dance, their vocals have always been on par - but "different". Their musicality has been an impermeable wall but it's only now that the west is beginning to understand. Kpop artists back in 2008-2012 created a base in the music industry that the west notices but won't acknowledge. With the digitization of music now, it is almost impossible to not be aware of it, hence the recognition. As a music student, Kpop has been absolutely genius since DAY 1, incomparable to anything else.

This. Just because the western world is not aware of it does not mean it could not rival. Kpop, and I shall include Jpop here, were not promoted outside of their respective countries from the start, but it was so good it spread across Asia, and to some extent the west brought on by immigrants. Through the ease of access of the digital age started the Hallyu Wave, of early to mid 2000s, which then prompted Kpop companies to venture out of the Asian market. And now the western world is finally catching up and recognizing it.

FOR REAL. cuz Istg I am a fan since 11 years ago. yes I'm 22 years old jamming to kpop since primary school. and there was never "western musics better than kpop" or "kpop couldn't rival western" . Kpop was fire even 11 years ago from 2nd gen of kpop. It's just that western people only discover them now. We asians know damn well kpop and every single korean shows, movies, foods and culture are wild. so western people being shock with kpop and shows like squid game saying it's good always makes me laugh. I'll be like isn't it always been good 😂

Omg same, been in this scene since 2007 and the building blocks for kpop now really did come from the generation between 2008-2012, and I’ve been hooked since day one because it was so different In recipe and they excelled in every aspect.

Jessi (1988) is a solo singer and Korean American. Born in New York, raised in New Jersey, and came to Korea alone at the age of 14 to become a singer, he is a famous singer who is good at both rapping and singing. This music video is about each team from the Korean TV show Female Dancer Survival Program, dancing to Jessi's song. The last woman to appear is Jessi.

Glad you checked this out. This is more like K-hiphop I guess, K-rap, certainly not pop music. Remember kpop is not a genre on itself and it's not equal to "whatever music they do in Korea", it's an industry ("korean pop") as there is reaaaaaaaaaaally good k-rock, k-trot, k-rnb, k-gospel ;) I don't know when that time was you mention, I've been checking artist after artist since early 2000s (around 2002-2003) (I jumped from Japanese music) and I've never looked back. Production, sensibility (as you said, attention), lyrics... Probably what westerners saw was SNSD (cute 1000 girls dancing) and Psy with Gangnam Style later on. The fact that others weren't promotioning out of Asia, does not mean they couldn't compete with the western, as imho, they took what was good, kneaded it and created a whole new level of things. You can check things from the 90s already, from hip hop to rnb and you'd be pleasantly surprised ^^ Really. And with Japanese music too. (I mention those because I'm more acquainted with them!) There is some documentary I saw on Korean Music Industry from the 80s onwards. I'll try to find it and link it :) PS. You look cool! I smashed the like just for taking the time, even before you started (I do for all reactors who take time to check things that I like, Rain, 2ne1, Psy is hilarious, BTS, GOT7, Mamamoo!!!, Jessi is sweet! Jay Park, Lee Hi, Loco)

Could you react to SilkyBois - "BOMAYE", NAFLA - "WU", H1GHER MUSIC - "TEAM", JUSTHIS & Paloalto - "4 the Youth Freestyle", BeWhy -"CHALLAN", TigerJK - "LOVE & PEACE", or WayChed - "RIDERS" if you have the chance. These songs all have English Subtitles, and I hope you like them. Mostly hip hop. 😊😊
