WHOOOA this took way longer than I thought (some boards even had to be redone or scrapped because of time)!! That's what I get for making this a polished storyboard tho 👀 it was still really fun aaaAA!!
credits to Nyx Atlas for sending me links to some unused voiceclips for MCSM characters! They reinvigorated my nerdiness for the game and made me want to make an animatic of some kind with the voiceclips :3 I tried to chose lines my interpretation of Jesse would most likely say (and kind of fit with the story ^^)
I've literally got 6 more of these lined up for other characters for the future so stay tuned!! This was a fun experience for me! :D
((So trying to link the page I found the audio was becoming a hassle, mainly because I didn't want people to have to search through tons of Tumblr blogs just to find the one post (and trying to share the one post would give people a prompt to have a Tumblr account to view, which i dont have so that was confusing) so I just recorded the file and put it into a Google drive for easier access:

great animation!! I recently revisited MCSM again (like I do every year), which led me to watch some videos of it and got recommended this one. It makes me happy that people haven't forgotten about this game and still create legendary content on it. If there is one game that has stuck with me over the years, it is definitely this one. I just absolutely adore the main character that is Jesse, he's my goat😤

Female Jesse sounds like she has this cool confident persona but is actually super dorky but can still kick you ass with both feet and hands. Male Jesse sounds like hes just done with everything but is actually some shy dork who likes making friends.

Well here i am, i wasted some time to think where those voice lines could fit in the game: 1. 0:00 In treehouse instead of Gabriel poster, there could be a Order of the Stone poster 2. 0:03 Dunno, maybe in episode 1... (maybe after crafting fishing rod in trap room) 3. 0:06 More scenes in The Temple of the Order of the Stone 4. 0:13 if you saved Gabriel 5. 0:18 maybe dragon costume was suppose to be made by Jesse, instead of Axel (dunno) 6. 0:21 One of the responses to Aiden in Endercon 7: 0:25 no idea (Maybe in Redstonia?) 8: 0:28 flashback in episode 1??? 9: 0:31 more scenes in treehouse 10: 0:45 failed QTE? 11: 0:49 Soren's Laboratory? 12: 0:53 Episode 1 or Episode 4 13: 0:58 No idea 14: 1:02 Voice testing? 15: 1:04 Either after getting stone sword or golden sword (definitely after getting golden one) 16: 1:07 Again, voice testing

Catherine Taber, VA of female Jesse, has always struck a cord for me. She really encapsulates what I imagine Jesse to sound, act, and overall, is. No hate to Patton Oswalt (male Jesse VA), but he's a comedian and an actor, not a three-dimensional protagonist trying to convey emotion and thought. With that in mind I find this even harder for him to portray a voice-acted, screen-only character that, again, needs to feel realistic. Tldr, Female Jesse supremacy. Also, this was super fun to watch! Your art was really smoothly put together, and flowed nicely between character movements. The style is also cute. You have a genuine talent and I hope you continue to show what you have to offer.

I've listened to several other character's unused lines, and I too wish they kept some of them in. Especially this one of Petra's: "If it isn't the Whatever-You-Changed-Your-Name-To-This-Year's"

I don't think they ever planned on having separate personalities for the different genders (F Jesse was also added in late, kinda funny considering Cat Taber was there a lot more than Patton Oswalt) only bits of different choosable personality, if that makes sense
I am making an audio archive for music and stings, if you would be so kind to point me towards the person who gave you the unused clips, I'd like for them to assist me in making my archive, specifically in more of the music and audio based clips as there's quite a few missing entries, and I don't have any voice lines outside of the ones you linked

Male Jesse doesn't have many unused voice lines because Patton Oswalt was only able to record his voice lines once per episode due to his busy schedule, so the script had to be finalized by the time he did so.
