Jerry can make you laugh without being vulgar

I just stumbled onto this. I was there. It was one of those vague memories that seems unreal: "Didn't I see Jerry Seinfeld being introduced by Carl Reiner at a club? Didn't he talk about how the candy is kept like jewelry?" I was a college student in West LA with barely two nickels to rub together.

His confidence really helps sell his act

How could anyone not like him?

A classic. Frickin guy was brilliant. Deserves his millions. Some of these jokes have been done to death since, but I remember when this came out and they were all new at the time.

I had this on VHS and watched it religiously for years.

Hey, it's the guy from the Super Terrific Happy Hour.

Jerry Seinfeld's comedy makes the world a better place ~ 😂

as someone in their late 20's stuck in florida most of their life, everytime I hear the jokes about florida they are so painfully true and the existential dread sinks in deeper.

Fuckin' Genius - crafted clean comedy better than most. Even in his Closing he incorpates double entendres and setus like, "That's they get away; That's How I'm gonna Get Away." Drops Mic that are so concretely & fluidly delivered, much like Seinfeld's series

Thanks for posting! I remember watching back in the '80s. Knew Jerry was hilarious then.

His routine is great and the skits interrupt the flow but it shows off Jerry’s versatility

Nearly 30 years old and still laughing. Jerry is a master of his craft. Thank you for posting this.

My parents got this at our local video store when I was a kid and it blew my mind.

Wow, Joel Hodgeson there at the beginning giving him the comedy x-ray specs.

This was my favorite comedy growing up. Was so happy when I heard he was getting his own show.

This guy is like the Beatles of standup. So damn good man, such a tight set.

I skipped the trippy skits.

There are many times during this that Jerry's inflections of speech remind me of William Shatner. Never noticed that before, but listen to his pauses, his emphases ... Truly, it's so similar! ... A couple of nice Jewish boys :)

A lot of comedy specials from that time had skits like that, and it always sucks. Even Carlin had a bunch of stupid cartoons in his On Campus special. I guess some brain donor at HBO thought people didn't want to watch an hour of uninterrupted stand-up. I don't mind one skit at the beginning, but not in the middle of the damn set!

mexiluvsw people have been saying this since the beginning of time. Kind of like the world is going to end soon. I saw an original twilight zone and the guy banged on a ford model A and said they don’t make em like they used to. Nostalgia is always better remembered than it really was, there’s clinical studies on it

I love every second of this. If this is not for you, tell us what you watch that makes you laugh? I bet that it really sucks.

I wonder how many people today won’t get the reference the guy was making when he said “flipping channels” and turned his hand over.

I think one time I saw him in East Rockiest on Atlantic Are. In a PORSCHE 911. He looked at I think because I was riding on my BMW BOXER. Maybe he realized that we both used the same engine layout even thou he had 6 cylinders to my 2.
