I adored listening to Jerry Reed growing up. Everything from Amos Moses, East Bound and Down, Guitar Man, When You're Hot You're Hot and Alabama Wild Man just to name a few.

there is a version of this song where both Jerry Reed and Dolly Parton make this song a duet , you hear both the male & the female version of what happened.

Let's not forget Jerry Reed is one of the most innovative fingerstyle guitarist of our time.

Wonderful reaction guys. Jerry Reed is absolutely hilarious always has been. Keith just for you and for off channel not for on channel there is video out there of Jerry Reed talking about the time he flew in an F-16. I will promise you that if you watch it you will laugh so hard you will hurt yourself. It is not musical however. It's just him talking if one of his shows. And Jerry Reed eastbound and down. Fantastic reaction guys I'm really enjoyed tonight's show although Dustin I don't know what your fascination is with that one damn door.

Another classic! I agree with TXplowgirl about Amos Moses.

The guitar intro on Amos Moses is Jerry Reed at his funky best. Not only that but the story is a humorous one as well. Now I know that you guys have listened to songs by the country supergroup The Highwaymen with Waylon Jennings but did you know that Waylon was also in another supergroup with Jerry Reed, Mel Gillis and Bobby Bare called Old Dogs? And just like The Highwaymen they also had two albums. Most of those saws are comedic and as you can expect, coming out in their latter years, the songs are mostly about growing old. So, just because of the talent involved, and the fact that y'all ain't spring chickens yourselves, you might want to check out some of those songs, ones like "You're Still Gonna Die"-"I Never Expected" and "Alimony". ✌

I hated country music growing up but I always loved Jerry Reed. He was also in many movies, Smokey and the Bandit, maybe his most famous. 👍

Always loved Jerry Reed, excellent musician and so funny!

Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, and a few other country, rockabilly, etc were doing things on the guitar decades before hard rock and metal guys were doing it, but they had to do it with much more precision due to the far cleaner tone in their style of music. And they make it look effortless. Apparently Chet Atkins even influenced George Harrsion's music when Harrison got ahold of his father's old Atkins albums. But anyway, there's a video out there of Reed and Atkins just shredding on their guitars in the most laid back, low-key way you can imagine. You guys should check it out.

Jerry Reed is the business.

Jerry is one of only about 5 total that Chet awarded as certified Guitar pickers. He wrote guitar man and when Elvis covered it the studio Pickers couldn't get it to sound like Jerry's version and they told him if you want tit to sound like Jerry Your Gonna have to get Jerry to pick it. and that's what he did . Jerry played on Elvis's cover of his own song.

Jerry Reed is also one of country musics best guitar players. I recommend "the claw".

Most of Jerry Reed's biggest hits had a humorous edge to them, like 'When You're Hot Yu're Hot You're Hot, 'Huggin' and a-Chalkin,' and my favorite, 'Lord Mister Ford."

Jerry Reed had a very distinctive style of guitar picking called clawing. If you heard it on the radio you knew it was Jerry Reed and no one else.

I love East Bound and Down by Jerry Reed. I have seen a cover by Midland on one of the award shows which was a tribute to Burt and Jerry after they had passed. The guitarist in the band stated how nervous he was doing the guitar work for that song because he did not want to mess it up. I am no Keith, but I think he did a good job. They even did the split sceen of both the guitarist like the original.

If you want to hear the best of Jerry's guitar listen to guitar man by Elvis Presley . Jerry wrote the song and they couldn't find anyone else that could play it so they got Jerry to play it

Yup, that was Jerry playing guitar... he was a beast on a guitar, and could play note for note with the best of them.....

FYI ... Keith had mentioned Mark Knopfler on one of the videos, unfortunately I can't recall which one. Keith, you need to see the video of Mark Knopfler playing an instrumental with Chet Atkins, if you haven't viewed it already.

I remember many years ago I heard a comedian named Lewis Grizzard say "I'm not gonna get married no more, I'm just gonna go out every 3 to 4 years, find a woman I can't stand and buy her a house!"

I love Jerry Reed ... his playing, singing, humor, acting ... I can't believe Dustin has not heard of Jerry Reed. Has he not seen any of the Smokey and the Bandit movies??

He must have been born under a rock. I had the pleasure of meeting and having about a 15 minute conversation with Jerry Reed back when I was a teen. He was funny and very down to earth.

just a little back story on Jerry Reed ..he was born in Georgia and raised in Alabama..hence the nickname "alabama wildman"..he also played on alot of Elvis' tracks...Elvis refused to record unless he had Jerry pickin for him..not on every track but if i recall it was 2 albums...lastly not only is Jerry a helluva guitar picker and singer but also a incredible actor ..you mentioned Roy Clark , he was a distant cousin to me ..he was always around the small town i grew up in playing jam sessions on the weekends ...want to be amazed ? watch his flamenco style picking

He don't know Jerry Reed? So, I guess he's never seen Smokey & The Bandit then either? Jerry Reed drove the semi in that movie with his basset hound "Fred", and did the songs in it too. East Bound & Down, etc.

you should hear the version that he did of this with Dolly Parton that also gives the wife's side of the story as well.

Stephen! My future bourbon hubby? This song is hilarious but sadly accurate. Too many women take advantage of men. I joke that Stephen is my bourbon hubby but that's us joking around. I go into a relationship with what's mine and leave with what's mine. Again funny song but for the men of this world, all too accurate. The bourbon looks beautiful! I've never had honey infused, I got confused because I had a honey dew melon (aka mush melon, lol the green cantaloupe)bourbon and it had just the right amount of the fruit to make it sweet but end with that smooth burn mmmmmm! anyway....might run to the liquor store this afternoon and see if they have Garrison Brothers. I live in the sticks so the store is small, so I just have to go look but I think I will. Correct me if I'm wrong but when Dustin asked "What was that" yes some of it was guitar but I heard some brush on the percussion... Y'all are just hilarious. I swear I thought Keith said too drunk to hover, had to rewind to hear Uber...y'all need to take this on the road. Y'all are hilarious and would make a ton of money! Not to mention making the bars money. The mixed drink recipe, try it with violet syrup instead of lavender. Gently wash your violets before garnishing. 😀 I found cowboy hats for y'all🤠. Dustin, the one for you had a lil bottles of bourbon around the band. Tastefully done, not gaudy. Keith yours was camo and velvet. Seriously thought about buying them but too afraid I'd be murdered in my sleep 😉 Another surgery yesterday. 2 more to go. I'm doing fine. Lots of pain and I'm bruised but I'm going to be okay. There's a couple things I tell all young men who think they want to get married. Of course women want to get married. There's no downside for them. Most of them can come out better off than they were going in. There's a %100 chance that you will not come out better off than you were going in.....so you better be sure about it.

I used to baby sit for them. Unfortunately learned last year, that their daughter, died last year from over dose, at a party from fyntenal. I always worried she'd end up like them, and her younger brother is serving life, for manslaughter!

Great reaction. Speaking of marriage, I know a guy who has been married five times and a woman who has been married six times and I want to ask them how many times do you have to get married before you realize that maybe you just aren't good at it or meant for it. I know someone else, mostly a friend of a friend, who has been married five times, three of the five times to the SAME MAN!!! She just keeps remarrying him and then complains that he never changes. Well, stop marrying him!
