Just started watching "Leave it to Beaver". Love it!!! Would love the Beaver again but again with Jerry. It must be wholesome, family show. Not trashes like the shows are today. Thanks for sharing.

One of the greatest shows ever made. I'm 60 but showed it to my kids who also loved it. My grandkids are next. I thank all the people involved in the show for a special gift of life that is sorely missed now. Life was not perfect then but there are so many American values shown with an amazing and strong mother and father. Carry on as ambassador Jerry Mathers. You gave a gift to the world.

Never seen the show as a child,,, but I have watched all the shows at least six times since I retired,,, Still start my day watching the beaver at 7 am each day ... Always very classy show,, and it makes my day ,,even at 70 years old ...

Leave it to Beaver was about childhood memories. Simple things that touched all of us. Every time Beaver or Wally made a mistake it was a part of growing up and learning how to become responsible adults. Whenever I feel lost in this wold of madness I watch these episodes to remind me of the time when America really was great.

I grew up in the 50s with Wally and Beaver and I sometime will watch and it's like visiting with old friends....I was lucky to have lived during the days when being honest polite and respectful was indicated in everything school church entertainment now to behave that way is WHITENESS and need be abolished....When I get to heaven i know exactly what it will look like....Just like the America that used to be

I've had the pleasure of meeting Mathers many times at various celebrity shows. My wife and I even spent a whole week on a Cruise with Mathers and his wonderful wife. Just a super nice genuine person.

It was a wholesome show. He was a cute little boy. I'm happy for him, I'm 66 and was born in 1957 when the show came out. Enjoyed every episode. Wish my dad was like his tv dad.

I watched Leave It To Beaver when I was a kid. I was born in 1958, the year after it came on TV. I still love to watch it, as it is a wholesome show with a lot of good advice for not only kids, but for parents as well. I still watch it to this day, and still love it. Thank you Jerry!❤

You will NEVER see new TV shows with these kind of values every again. The problem is society is not like it was in the 50's and early 60's. TV reflects the society at the time it is made. American society is at an all time low and that is one of the main reasons why Current TV is so unwatchable.

Never missed this show as a child. Being the same age as Beaver made every episode seem real. I dreamed of living in such a beautiful home with a bathroom off my bedroom and a father who reasoned instead of hitting. I still enjoy watching reruns. Thanks for sharing this video.

My dad made no effort to reason or hit, maybe the worst of both worlds. Robert at 68.

He sounds like a well balanced and sensible man who lived a decent and normal life. I hope he gets the show he has in mind. That kind if entertainment is in short supply and would have a positive effect on today's young people.

As an actor, Jerry Mathers was one good actor. It's interesting as well as heartbreaking that the rest of the "Leave It To Beaver," crew has passed. Thanks for the information, Facts Verse!

Really glad to hear Jerry Mathers had a normal and productive life. Certainly not the fate of many child entertainment media celebrities. I am 74, watched "Leave It To Beaver" as a kid. In fact, today I watched one of my favorite episodes, where Beaver gets stuck in a big soup bowl on an advertising billboard. It was funny then, and it still is.

Let's please (also recall) the wonderful Burt Mustin, who played "Gus," the Fire-fighter, on the Beaver show. A wonderful character actor who passed on in 1977, at close to 93.

I’ve watched every episode! Leave it to beaver is in my top 3 for greatest shows ever made! They really captured the family setting!

Leave it to beaver was my favourite show on tv growing up as a kid.we as a family would watch it every day after school lived it.

I was 12 years old in 1957, when “Leave it to Beaver,” began. I watched it fairly regularly in the earlier years, but by 1962, I was in high School and working a part time job most evenings. But I liked the show, because it did reflect good family values and morals, things which later disappeared from TV and the movies. America changed, becoming more jaded, coarse, and vulgar, reflecting the kinds of values that children should not be exposed to.I am glad Jerry Mathers has had a more normal life than many celebrities who were destroyed by Hollywood morals, drugs, and vain self idolatry. Wish other stars had made the decisions he made, leaving the Hollywood scene. It was a blessing that he had a strong family foundation and good role models to guide him along his life journey. I do not know about his spirituality, but I hope he has faith, and follows Jesus as a Christian.

Leave it to Beaver is my favorite show from my childhood!

I've seen every episode many times. Beaver and Wally just like Lumpy and Eddie were done after the show went off. They were as typecast as they come. I did see Tony in a beach movie and he couldn't shake the Wally in him. Jerry was on a My Three Sons as an adult with wife. He grew a mustache but ....he was still the Beaver. Most folks don't realize that when boys turned 18 in that era, they had to by law register for the draft with a very good chance of being drafted and sent to Vietnam. Beaver and older brother MIke on My Three Sons were like a lot of male actors of that time, enlisting in the Air Force Guard to prevent the Army and Vietnam. Considine even wore his uniform on MTS in an attempt to prove patriotism.

@@FactsVerse When Beaver gets locked in the school Principal’s office and he pulls the fire alarm. Because Larry told him there was a “spanking machine”, in the office.

He's the only immediate Cleaver family member still alive, but several of his castmates in his own age group are still living.

@@FactsVerse To Many to name. As a mother of one son and grandmother of 2 grandsons, I can relate to all the episodes. I start everyday with fond memories of something my son or grandsons did making me laugh. This morning was the episode of the Voodoo Curse on Eddy Haskel, which cover the love hate relationship of Eddy, which was experienced by some of their childhood friends. 👍❤️

I remember watching the "Beave" on Married with Children in one episode. One of my favorites was Burt Mustin who played the old fireman "Gus". I remember watching him on three episodes of Dragnet. On one show he played the retired Chief of Detectives and on another he played a 90 year old cat burgler.

I loved Bert Mustin …a great character actor who I understand didn’t even start acting until he was in his 60’s or 70’s. I loved Leave It To Beaver but it was that cute older brother Wally that I had a crush on…..he came right after my all time favorite, Eric Hillard Nelson, better know as the talented Ricky Nelson whom I named my oldest son after. We live probably 125 miles away from DeKalb where his plane went down…such a horribly sad day for his sweet mother. I am sure she never got over that…and I understand exactly how she felt now because I lost my own Ricky 4 years ago…he was a CPA and owned his own accounting firm. I miss his so much. I hope my two favorite Rick’s got to meet in heaven. I love you, Sugar…..you wait for me. I do not understand why we cannot have shows like Leave It To Beaver, I Love Lucy, The Roy Rogers Show, Sky King, My Friend Flicka, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, and Gilligan’s Island on today. We watch Gunsmoke, Bonanza and shows like That Girl and Bewitched every day. With TV shows like that at least you don’t have to worry about your children or grandchildren picking up off color words right and left. Why, I never even heard the “F” word until I was in high school and I graduated in 1965. The more children hear 4-letter words, the more they think it is acceptable to say them. Just read the news about how children treat other children…some anyway…and ask yourself if you really think that prices going up SO much in the last 45 years that both parents HAVING to go to work just to have anything in the world today is worth more and more kids not having their mothers at home, so many children being bullied so much that 10 to 12 year olds commit suicide, that even some children murder their grandparents, parents or brothers and sisters? No, I don’t think so. I won’t be around in a few more years but I worry about my 21 grandchildren and our precious new great-granddaughter. With a president who advocates minors having their genitals cut off, being given hormone blockers so they won’t even know what being a real boy or a real girl is like?….and who insists that his son Beau died in Iraq rather than where the man died with a cancerous brain tumor, in a hospital in Bethesda, MD. And is so old he can’t even do the job he was elected to do just a couple of years ago…pathetic…can’t even walk across a stage or up a flight of stairs without falling down…or remember where he is or why? We NEED shows like Leave It To Beaver with Jerry Mathers playing a kind, caring, level headed grandfather to show children that not everyone in this country is going to murder their wives and bury their bodies in the woods, shoot their wife and younger son even if they come from a famous family of attorneys in South Carolina, or murder their children because they don’t want to pay child support or help send their kids to college. This world has gone stark raving crazy and God knows we need something on TV to help kids know that not everyone out there has gone completely around the bend. You go, Jerry….the Hollywood executives are not very bright if they don’t hire you to make the kind of grown up Leave It to Beaver that you want to make. Thank you to everyone involved with your show to help raise at least one generation of good kids.

@@nancycurtis488 I agree with everything you say. I'm 70 and there are only a few women that makes my heart pound from the old days. If I had to live my life over it would be Grace Kelly from the 50's. Especially the way she looked in the movie "High Noon". There are only two others that have stayed on my mind in the last 20 years. Kristen Bell & Olivia Wilde. Ironically, 2 of those three women ended up becoming real princesses. But Olivia missed acting and got divorced. There went her crown. I detest the sows on the view. I've listened a total of 3 minutes at most combined all these years. Much of the problem nowadays are because of broken families and homes without a dad. I was a part of my sons life as much as I could. Thankfully he doesn't do drugs. I do not care to reveal his college. But it is well known and he graduated at the top of his class in the engineering department. His department head recommended 4 schools to attend for an advanced degree. MIT, Carnegie-Mellon, Stanford, & Cal Tech. MIT wanted him to sign a contract for 5 1/2 - 6 years all expenses paid with stipend to do research. But he wanted to specialize in AI. He ended up going to Johns-Hopkins for his advanced degree. Now if he'll only go back with his gf and get married. We want grandchildren!

You have that right. I turned 68 today and remember when it was on as new current show. Also you will get similar comical bits from The Munsters with same writers Bob Mosher and Joe Connelly. One episode of the Munsters they go to the Cleaver employment office.

When my brother was younger he got mistaken for Jerry all the time. We were at Disneyland and he got mobbed. My mom had to explain his name was James.

Great show

Jerry was entitled to a normal life. Too many stars end up isolated alone depressed and drunk.. so happy that Jerry found a way out! I think him playing a grandpa would be great!

Eddie really spiced up that show. Very insecure and a narcissist to boot, he was still smart as a whip and almost as silver-tongued as Bill Clinton.

Good for him. You always hear about child star screw ups. Glad Mathers has a level head. I watched leave it to Beaver back in the early 60s and I still watch it today always learning valuable lessons even at age 61.

Around 1981 I saw a play called So Long Stanley which starred Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow. Got to talk to them at a post-show party and found both to be nice guys.

I would love to see Jerry Mathers to play a grandfather. He would be the perfect man to play the role.

When I was younger I was always loving to watch Leave It to Beaver and once in awhile I'll catch a eye of it... my sibling brother watching the show when we was young I nicknamed him beaver ..and he's 70-something years old now and he has always been beaver to me 😊

Leave It To Beaver reruns are my "go to" just before I go to bed. Grew up with them & now I'm seeing stuff I was too young to know what they were talking about. Now, if I hear June & Ward Cleaver call each other DEAR one more time, I'll scream. 🤪 As for today's Beaver, only thing missing is that tuff of hair that always laid on his forehead. 😆

Growing up, I identified with Beaver because we were the same age. The way he looked at life was the same as mine. Now that I look at the old reruns, I have a totally different perspective.

I grew up watching reruns of Leave It to Beaver. Loved it and definitely play it for my children.

Still one of my favorite shows a simpler vtime and most of us baby boomers can relate to.

Why at 4:51, while discussing Mathers, a photo of Tony Dow is shown? Very confusing.

I still watch this show every morning on MeTV. The show will be appealing forever.

Barry Gordon played Chopper once and wasn't a cast member. He is still alive. As well hated Judy semi-regular is still with us as a real estate agent. Probably others similarly have not passed on.

Well, it was a good show that brought entertainment to many. I'm the same age as Mathers, so the show was just part of life for me.

I AM RETIRED AND 72 YEARS OLD. I STILL TRY TO WATCH THE PROGRAM AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK OR EVERYDAY IF POSSIBLE. IT BRINGS BACK THE MEMORIES OF "AMERICA" IN THE 50'S AND 60'S WHEN IT WAS GREAT (COMPARED TO TODAY.)

Here's a pitch I have been working on for a reboot. Beaver is back as a grandfather taking care of his only daughter and her two pre-teen girls. The story line runs with the girls getting into similar problems the Beaver did but obviously with a modern application. As the father figure in the family the Beaver attempts to apply the advice his father gave him. Insert clips from the original show with Ward being the ideal father Beaver remembers. The humor arises in the absolute fails Ward's advice, through Beaver's interpretation, applied to little girls in 2023. It has been writing itself.

Although there were some child stars that are not cast members, two I'm sure were in the old series Richard Corral and Jeri Wail and Rusty Stevens and still alive.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to remake and start Leave it to Beaver again with a new cast. The show having wholesome Ideals to lead us into the future teaching integrity and good family values. Not accepting the negative world views of today. Thank you for sharing this clip.

Did you know the role of Beaver was originally supposed to be a girl? And when he auditioned, he complained he wanted to go to the boy's scout. Which is why he got the part. He truly was being a kid at his audition.

I got his autograph at the Beverly Hilton when he was 19. He seemed very shy and awkward and was surrounded by teen girls asking him if he remembered certain episodes. I think it embarrassed him.

Larry Mondello was great, always was chomping on an apple, and had great stories about his sister and oft-absent (never shown) salesman dad. Batman's Aunt Harriet played his frazzled mom. In one episode he told Beaver a teacher has a new spanking machine. Top cast but the real stars were the unseen writers who could see both Ward's homespun philosophies and the kids crazy thoughts and antics.

It's really great to find out that Jerry Mathers had the support that he needed growing up as a child star from his parents. That was sorely missing in other child actors lives that led to some of their lives being destroyed in one way or another.

It was one of the all time great TV shows. What do we have today that compares?

I’m a super fan of the show! I just started watching it again now I’m older. I never realized how funny it was . I love the value and cleanliness of the show. I think Jerry made a wise decision even though I would have loved to have seen more of it! I love his values in life! Very rare these days! I believe his tv parents as well as his biological parents had a great input in his good values! Just love him and the show!

I once heard Jerry Mathers say that the show was psychologically dangerous in that it portrayed a fantastically perfect parenthood that was totally unrealistic. Too many children who watched the show regularly felt sorry for themselves because their parents were nowhere near as perfect as Ward and June Cleaver. Born in 1952, I know I was one of those kids. It took me years to appreciate my parents as they really were and realize that the show was an impossible fantasy. No parents were like that. If they did exist, they were freaks.

Those were the good old days I still watch leave it to beaver today it was a great sitcom I loved beaver he always got into trouble with his friends and he and Tony's relationship as brother's on the show was wonderful and Barbra Billingsley(June clever) and Hugh Beaumont(ward clever) was a great pair i still love leave it to beaver classic sitcom and eddie haskel funny guy and larry mondello beaver's best friend really cool guy always eating a apple😂 and everything else 😂 those 2 were always getting in trouble I love this sitcom I still watch it

I met him in the early 90’s at Oxford fest in Alabama. He spent a couple of minutes talking to me and he was a really nice guy. I would like to sit and talk to him again.
