Jerry Lee Lewis - Greatest Live Rock & Roll - Shindig Appearances 1964-65!!

Here are 8 amazing live TV appearances by Jerry Lee Lewis on Shindig from 1964-65. Jerry Lee is positively spitting fire in these clips -- with insane backing from the Shindig band, including a great Jerry Cole -- and a mean-ass attitude that only Jerry Lee could get away with. Includes Mean Woman Blues, High School Confidential, Great Balls of Fire, Long Tall Sally, I Believe In You, Whole Lotta Shakin', Rockin' Pneumonia, and Breathless!!

If you’ve ever been to one of his shows you we’ll see you got your moneys worth. The killer put on one heck of a show and let’s not forget Kenny Lovelace.

How is it that the very best piano playing seems to be performed with the very least effort? No one tops Jerry Lee!

That is one hell of a lineup on the credits of the third show. Good to see Jerry topping the bill and singing live in what was really a lean time for him.

Very few entertainers could command a stage every second he was on it like Jerry Lee. Names that come to mind include Liberace and Elton John.

Round about this time, Jerry would go on the road with Jackie Wilson, like Southern white boy versus black city boy. Both very full of themselves and I bet there was no love lost, but those shows must have been worth seeing.

@ Stewart Fenton , Jerry Lee Lewis & Jackie Wilson were both friends . It was Jackie Wilson who asked Jerry Lee if he would do a tour with him. --- Jerry Lee said yes ,

@@johnpearce3714 I didn't know either of those things. I suppose Jerry was a typical redneck, didn't like blacks in general, but overlooked it enough to admire them musically. But I wouldn't venture to understand how the Killer's mind worked, did anybody? Despite his failings, I'm proud to have shaken his hand at the Gloucester ABC, England, after the greatest gig I was ever at.
