They probably did a terrible marketing. No decent poster or any artwork worth something. It was a real pain to make a proper visual of this for the video. They probably hired a 1st year student to make the posters... 🤔

Since the music starts and something "rises" from the epths of the Mariana Trench to an unsuspecting luxury cruise,to the moment we shift into a view of an "Elco" boat running in the middle of the night this film shows that there is going to be lots of fun. One of Jerry Goldsmith's best jobs! The music really grabs you! Too bad we never did get the planned sequels,but we still have this one. Thanks a lot Mr. Nuytens!!!

Love this movie , I never get bored when watching it . I still wish we got a sequel , I heard we it was gonna have a sequel called “King rising” shiv would have made it s prequel to King Kong

This score is the flip side of "King Solomons Mines", a dreadful film accompanied by a dry and derivative score. Goldsmith seems to be having real fun here, letting rip with all the orchestral motives of his later action scoring techniques. It sounds almost like a session improv recording. Terrific. Thank you for downloading and extending this.

I've also seen almost all of this film.😁👍🏻 Research: After "Titanic" and "Sfera" here are the horrors of "Deep Rising", low cost and complete with an open ending.

They also probably totally cut off the budget for the marketing, that's why we have so shitty posters/artworks and why the movie failed at the box office (as far as people say?).

Hi Gilles, respect and big love for what you're doing. Question - do you plan maybe to do the same thing you're doing with video game and/or maybe anime music? There is a lot of really great composers and soundtracks in these medium nowadays, often at the level of the best movie music.

Thanks. Yes I know there are a lof of good stuff there. There was a time, a long time ago, when I only listened to that type of music. Not much anymore, I haven't watched an anime in years (at the exception of the New Kenshin series - that has bad music - Dragon Ball Super and the new version of Dragon Quest Dai No Daiboken, all series from "my" time). I don't feel much interest for anime for the moment and starting that would be too overwhelming with the massive amount of material that exist.

@@GillesNuytens Don't know exactly how long ago you listened to anime music, but since then a lot has changed. I recommed listening to the soundtrack for Attack on Titan, or any anime music made by Hiroyuki Sawano or maybe Kevin Penkin. Maybe those two will inspire you to get back to that "genre". For me Sawano did best composing for any medium in last 10 years or so. Also strongly recommend music by Noubo Uematsu, that's from gaming, his fresh score for Final Fantasy Rebirth is a masterpiece.

I loved the music from the original Dragon Quest TV (Dai No Daiboken) but I found the music from the new remake anime pretty bland, same for Kenshin (music from the 90's series was more than awesome, while the music from the 2023 remake is plain shit, as for the latest Dragon Ball movies/TV's, it's not much better). I don't know any composer's names though. Noubo Uematsu is indeed a master, I have the original deluxe albums for both FFVII and FFVIII. But the latest Final Fantasy soundtracks I've listened aren't great (I don't know at which number they are now...).

@@GillesNuytens Rebirth is kind of a remake/sequel of FF7 and the music in it is also kind of a remake of the music form the original 7 but there's a lot of nuances and great new additons. Death Stranding and Nier: Automata have wonderful music also. I didn't pay much attention to anime music few years ago, most of it was bland to me, but there's been a big change in the genre in terms of music for the better. There was some great music in 90s anime, but after that it got worse for me, but about a decade ago became sooo much good. If you find the time to listen to some fresh anime or game music I think you won't regret it. Cheers.
