I'm almost 48, and I started playing guitar when I was 14, set 34 years of playing and listening intently. And after all of this time, I can say there are only a very few guitarist that I listen to that I can not only immediately identify because of their very unique sound dot.dot but with Jerry that unique sound also moves me so much more than any other guitar player's sound!. There's just something about his sense of Melody and the notes he chooses to play. It's like, as soon as the play button gets hit and you drop right into a live recording of just about any dead song from any year and that sound hits you and just makes you go ahhhh

So do I. Miss him with my whole heart and for the same reasons. I think he was happiest when he played with Grisman and the boys. He was freer and the music was deep and melted into your soul from his. Love you, Jerry.

Life's Very "abusive".
Jerry Garcia was a god amongst men! His soulful, mournful, almost child-like vocals are beyond perfection. Any newer fans, please listen to Shady Grove. The entire album not just the song. It is perfection!
i was at this show. it was awesome

Nothing better than listing to Grateful Dawg at work. Getting paid to listen to the masters jam
Look at when all the comments were made. This music is timeless. People are moved one by one over the years. Jerry is special, and so is Grisham, but there will be many artists through the ages who help us remember our singularity and our boundless potential. God bless the human race. May we bask in the glory
Precious.
Just incredible what a few people and their instruments can do.

Thanks for putting this up!!! I was at this show and it is a perfect one to listen to on his birthday
Oh yeah, very classy. This is beautiful. Reminds me of "Grateful Dawg" the film about Jerry and David's collaboration...
As an old head thank you for sharing. I love shady grove, i cant say too much but keep posting even if you have to make 17 fuccin channels. Much love.
Two great master musicians playing off each others inspirations!! Really Stunning! I never get tired of their stuff.
Thank you for this! Great quality! So glad we got Jerry material on video! Thank you thank you!
'Sitting here in limbo' is such a great tune. _And, Grisman plays brilliantly on it!_

Jerry at his best. Doing his soul music. Americana!
Love the song, and the soul with which it is played and sung.
Bravo!! Some of the best shit Jerry ever did. It's a whole aesthetic that I associate with the 90s. Acis acoustic groovy livingroom music.
❤️ 💀 ❤ the music never stops! Pure gold right here!! Magic to my ears 😎

Thank you...This stuff brings back such wonderful memories of my younger days in the desert town of ABQ...where Garcia Grisman music seemed to be the soundtrack...
Happy Birthday and Thank you

Thank you for this I was and am a East coast deadhead I remeber when this shows took place I was so mad I didn't get to be There. Thanks for the video you the man.
best Christmas carol ever!
After Brent passed in ‘90 the GD become nothing more than a job to pay the bills, aside from a few random moments of inspiration. Jerry’s creative force went into his solo show and side projects such as this. This is the good stuff

I disagree. The post Brent music still had magic and beauty. Personally, I enjoy the 90-95 stretch. New tunes, different sounds, still the Grateful Dead, always delivering the lift I need.

@@paulleavell4317 read some of the quotes from the band/management from that era. They had huge overhead and needed the touring income to keep paying for it, even in the 90s.
If you guys want hear more of Jerry’s classics check out Garcia Songbook by Joe Craven(guy on the percussion) and the Sometimers. Great retake of these classic hits
