This interview is such a treat, not to mention a historically significant document; many thanks to all who had a part in putting this together. I had the distinct honor of studying with him and earning a degree in Jazz at the University of Tennessee in the mid '80s. Jerry stands out in my memory as an infinitely kind and patient teacher, putting aside his fantastic artistry and vast knowledge base he commanded. Love and all best wishes to Jerry and to Patty!
