Anyone who's danced can relate to these hilarious moments in The Concert (or, The Perils of Everybody). This movement is fondly called the "Mistake Waltz".
Choreographed in 1956, this Jerome Robbins' ballet is a comic spoof of a classical music concert.

    This is based off a comedy pice.... called (The Concert). This parody dance routine is performed by ballerinas at the Vienna State Opera in Austria. The routine is called ‘When Ballet Goes Wrong” Choreographed by Jerome Robbins.

    I do! I think it fits the piece because you aren't supposed to make noise with your shoes in ballet but this *is* the Mistake Waltz so I wonder if it was on purpose

    I did a similar choreography (with lots of mistakes) in the 2000s in my ballet class and we had so much fun!! It was probably the funniest choreography I ever did in ballet and it was so unnatural to learn, but we had a blast!

    Try the vienna theater one. It really cute and funny. They have mastered the art of mistake. So graceful, yet kinda roll with the punches. I laugh the entire dance.

    this dance becomes even more amazing when you realize that it's harder to choreograph mistakes as a ballerina. like it's literally ingrained into you that you have to be perfect 100% of the time, so for most ballerina's a dance that's literally full of mistakes is extremely difficult to catch onto.

    Happened to a friend of mine for real and during an exam! 😂😂😂 we were all in croise right foot devant in 5th position and she was in croise LEFT foot devant! She did that same slow movement to change her direction, the examiner saw and kinda giggled 😂😂😂

    What impresses me most is that with all the planned mistakes, this has to be a ballet with six unique, specialized roles. Every member ends up with a different muscle memory and I'd imagine that every part needs their own backup if the prime dancer falls ill or something.

    YES OMG a couple years ago I had to miss like 5 classes in a row because of family stuff, and my teacher just kept saying "just catch on." I didn't know half the dance when recital came... 😶😳 Edit: I am now almost a professional dancer!! Things are going good 👍

    The funny thing is since ballet moves need to be super clean an polished, they probably practiced the mistakes a lot til they looked perfectly out of place at the right time and right spot with the right move.

    The thing I love about this. Is the anticipation, because while yes the audience catches on early the gag of it, But their able to use that anticipation to keep their eyes peeled for when the next gaff will be. And it’s never quite where you’d expect or from who you’d expect. There’s the obvious person usually out of line, but by a certain point it’s also the people reacting to the one out of line, and everyone else reacting to them in an endless cascade.

    Out of all the groups that do this, these ladies are the most hilarious. Other groups I’ve seen seem to force their mistakes and over exaggerate their movements but they do it so naturally and make it seem unintentional.

    I come to feel familiar with real ballet by funny dance like this. 完璧な踊りも綺麗やけどこうやって親しみやすい面も見せてくれるとバレエ未経験者としてもより身近にバレエを感じられるのでとてもよいものだと思います。

    @@rosni132 Honestly english is weird. All it takes is some speaking practice and getting a friend to correct you on small sentence differences. Most of your problems are probably just the meanings of certain words in specific sentences. Its cool that you know two languages though! I can speak a very small bit of French but not much. Only a few phrases and words.
