It definitely is possible to get high on sound waves, since these are being converted to electrical signals by the ear. It's a matter of finding the exact frequencies, transmitting them, and high fidelity equipment to reproduce them. Not easy, but very possible.

Actually distorted sound would cause a distorted image. Static creates blur and sine waves create circular patterns.

he has a tutorial series on his channel explaining how he makes music that sounds good and produces actual oscilloscope art all at once. mind blowing shit. usually oscilloscope art sounds like shit when played as sound and usually music looks like shit when played through an oscilloscope. this guy is talented and his oscilloscope music is probably the best there is although I havent dug into it too much. impressive as hell either way.

This is still my favorite amongst all of them. it's like a message being sent into or from space with square waves.

I love how the oscilliscope just tries to visualize audio and we just agree with it

Maybe, but I think it's supposed to be the Utah Teapot AKA the Newell Teapot. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah_teapot It was one of the first 3D objects to be rendered graphically way back in 1975. In fact it was first drawn on a Tektronix oscilloscope.

I am also here after watching Techmoan and I am so glad I did because this is amazing stuff right here. You must be working with some heavy duty algorithms to create these visuals. Great work man you found a great form of art melding with tech that is fun and interesting.
