Jermaine Dupri Breaks His Silence On Jay-Z's NFL Deal

Ойын-сауық

Super Bowl LIII was held in Atlanta this year and when it came down to the black community, folks said #ImWithKap. Jay-Z reached out to artists to ask them not to support the NFL because of Former San Francisco 49’ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick still being unemployed due to kneeling.
With Jermaine Dupri Being the unofficial “Mayor of Atlanta”, he decided to do something great for the city and produce a weekend of concerts in Centennial Park. Jermaine was then called a “traitor” and a list of other insulting names for his “support” of Super Bowl Weekend.
Fast-forward to the NFL season approaching, the media announced Jay-Z and his ROC NATION ventures have made an entertainment deal with the NFL and things became controversial.
Jermaine Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox sat down with Big Tigger to clear the air and respond to the comments dealing with the NFL. Jermaine also opens up about how hurt he was when he was receiving backlash. He also mentions that he has spoken to Jay since the infamous clip of him being “passed kneeling” was released.
Check out the full exclusive interview for more details and be sure to watch Big Tigger LIVE Weekdays from 2-6pm at WatchV103.com

Stop with the irrelevant hypotheticals. Kap's having a job or not is not related to the problem of racist policing. It does serve as an indication of the entirely different problem of the NFL punishing a black man for bringing attention to the issue of racist policing. If you draw irrelevant parallels between these issues, which you have, you're part of the problem.

@@eddiet3026 I appreciate Kap and I feel for him that he can't play the game he loves, however he ain't being punished by the NFL for his stance. His stance takes dollars out of the NFL's pockets. I hate the owner of the Cowboys, Jerry Jones but his intial statement about this whole subject was, the players on his team will not kneel and Donald Trump will not have a say on what NFL owners and teams do. He is a business man and a good business man cuts ties with anything that take money out of his pockets. The black community acts as if the NFL owes them or Kap something. Before this ROC nation deal, the NFL did work with players to start initiatives in the black community. Our community, much like the white community thinking kneeling for the anthem is disrespectful of the military, can't tell the differnce between making a business decision and wanting to punish a protester.

The problem is lack of unity in our community. It's way bigger than Kap or a Jay Z deal. How many of us supported the NFL by watching or going to games? By watching and supporting sports shows that were knee deep in NFL content? How many still wear or purchase NFL merchandise? All we had to do to make a statement was not watch or buy NFL content but most of us won't even do that. We have to stop looking for someone to save us and come together socially and economically to create real change. We have to stop hating each other and boycotting black business. We are literally the only people on the planet that won't come together to secure a better future for ourselves and our youth. So judge yourself as harshly as you judge others if you fall under any of the above. Let's come together and build each other up for a change. It's in OUR hands. Not Jay Z's or any other black entertainer.

More like employees with an employee mindset trying to discuss CEO moves. The air at the top generating big boss multi million dollar moves is a bit different. There are stages to business. That's why people get their MBA to help them transition to Executive. Dudes like Jay, Diddy, Master P, J Prince etc.. learned on the job. If Jay were white, his white counterparts would respect the chain of command and give Jay his props but he's Black so he 's subject to criticism from non Blacks and the crabs in the barrel mentality from fellow Blacks.

Kaepernick taking the knee had nothing to do with his employment, it was suppose to be about bring attention to Black men being killed by police officers for no reason. He wanted to bring that problem to light. The NFL club owners consequently told the NFL Players they could not protest at their games. If the players felt or believed this was unfair they should have collectively said "NO" by standing up for their rights. That could have been done by ALL OF THE PLAYERS by walking off the job. And if ONE (i.e., Kaepernick) player is punished by being blackballed or fined or any measure of retribution, we (The Players) will walk. So, forget Jay-Z's deal with the NFL owners. You all are being distracted. Stop and get focused folks!

True... We as the people know what's up.. There is a continuous stance for Justice on equality.. I personally don't care who the NFL pimps to erase their devious agenda.. They may hold the cards but we as the people determine how they're played! #I continue to kneel with Kap because he first kneeled for me! I know that we all have a part to play.. Now Jay-Z has his(praying for sum good to come out of that)! I do feel that this NFL/Jz thing is another diversion tactic for something way bigger happening in the mist! My people stay focused and in tuned!

actually the community has a whole lot blame on a lot of things. But just like white people, we ain't changing either. So, that's why all of this sjw stuff (I agree with to a certain degree) is hypocritical. Because we as a community could spend better. We as a community could community build. We dont do any of that. So why are we getting pissed at germaine Dupree or jay z. You cant fight oppression if you're psychologically handicapped. We still look at white folks like they control our futures, value, and life basically. That's why we get upset so much when they do racist shit. Because we value them and their opinions. We've lost the game before the game's played. Until we change how we do things(not talk) it's all gonna be the same. Kneeling was senseless. Black people dont need to be made more aware of police brutality. Its been going on forever. And white people knew about. They just don't care. So what was kaps end game. The whole thing was just another showing of the us begging the bully. How about spending our money on black owned products. How about us investing and valuing businesses in our community instead of shooting them up(research nipsey hussle's store and how many times it was shot at before his death). How about valuing ourselves and our women. All of that does way more than kneeling. But it's not something that involves white people being happy with or pissed off. And if theres one thing I know about us is this. We care, value, think about, white people and their views/ treatment of us WAY TOO MUCH

So your saying Cox lied...😏.....It shouldn't be this hard to confirm or deny what Cox said.....JD said he spoke to JayZ before going on Tigga show, ......Obviously JayZ told him to deny the story....or play down the story.....That's why JD is doing this interview.....

@@funderburk173 Why didn't he air Cox out for relaying that story to the media....Cox, the guy who dropped dime was sitting in on the interview with JD....JD said Cox can say what he wants to say....Really.....after someone lies in your name, that's all you have to say....Clearly the story was true....JD is playing down the story because Jay Z whom he spoke to before the interview (with Tigga) must have asked him to....

@@missthickbri JD half ass denied it....Instead of giving a firm denial ...JD aired his grievance about all the people in Atlanta who criticized him when he was doing the same deal with the NFL but of a lesser extent a year ago.....then at the end of that bullshit he said yes JayZ called but didn't tell him not to do the deal...he said Jayz said "you know what side I'm on" something like that.....But my point is the guy who relayed the story sat in on the interview...

Our people (black), is part of our own destruction. We are so hard and distrusting our own people, meanwhile subconsciously support the others.

Exactly. You had MLKjr and you had MalcolmX.. 2 opposing views to cure the same problem, whether you agree/dissgree with the approach of either you have to respect that they both tried. They died for us to sit back and spew our grievances with other black men's approaches without defining and implementing our own. Whether its disingenuous on Jay's behalf or not, we need an all-angled approach and it takes more than one man to accomplish that. My approach is to inspire my community in a way that shows that there's an etiquette attached to success.. even if you sell drugs you can and should have respect for your fellow (black) man even if you're hustling for the same coin. I feel in doing so we can delete much of the self-hatred and violence within our communities which leads to police being summoned in the first place.. I speak that to the youth whenever I can and make a point of being a voice in those circles. Now, you (whoever) may not feel that my approach is worthless and may have other ideas which work better for you. I encourage that difference because it takes US

em You should speak for yourself when sharing that opinion. There’s plenty of black people that work together. It’s the most powerful unity I’ve ever seen, just because those are positions you’re in, doesn’t mean they don’t exist. I would do some introspection as to why you may not be, beginning with your post.
