VartanFresh festivals aren’t round, they are more on the long side and are made of flour,cornmeal and sugar...while on the other hand what you got is dumpling, but it’s ok you didn’t know...we still love you❤️

Festival and fried dumplings are not the same. Festival has sugar in it and has a long shape close to bread sticks. Fried dumplings doesn't hv sugar in it and is round in shape. I think they made a festival dough and fried it in the round shape. I also don't think that the people at the restaurant are jamaican, maybe they hv jamaican roots otherwise they wouldn't write festival bread on the menu because it isn't called festival bread in Jamaica, its just festival.

Dude, that's a lot of food to eat in one sitting! Jamaican food is heavy so you shouldn't be able to move when your finished. You represented well anyway, fingers and all! Good job helping to put our food out there for others to see. You can order a serving of one meat and one full additional order of something else instead of two full orders.

It was "torture" to watch these videos of other people engorging themselves on the food I love but couldn't get any of, at that time. It was all in jest. I now am happily going back to my favorite Jamaican food place. I hope you love Jamaican food too.

We definitely don’t make patty sandwiches in JA, well not to my knowledge. If people do eat it that way its not that popular, it’s more popular to see people put a patty inside of cocoa bread. Which is the tastiest soft yummiest bread on earth lol. The patty in Jamaica looks different, a lot more flaky and it’s more brown and less yellow. The round ball of dough is called fried dumpling, not usually eaten with the food you had here. It’s usually served with Ackee and salt fish Rice and peas is served with red kidney beans in most cases. We also have gungo peas and rice which is equal to the pigeon peas that you referred to, we just call it gungo lol Great video!! So fun to try different cuisines ☺️

Yeah...that patty is looking pretty suspect. Not saying that it doesn't taste good but it looks so "doughy". As the OP said.....a real patty is much flakier...almost like a puff pastry consistency, the filling is juicer and you wouldn't be able to break it apart like that with getting crumbs and flakes everywhere.

Yes adding lettuce, tomato and cheese is done in Jamaica as an option. They started that back in the 90s and called it 'power patty.' Some restaurants sell combo meals - two or three different meats, so you could definitely get what you want in one box.

The Bread is called Festival (it has a slight sweet taste to it) otherwise it would Fry Dumplin but based on the meal you have it would be Festival. Try eating Roast Breadfruit with Ackee and Saltfish....thats another true Jamaican meal.
