I met my husband on a blind date, it was truly Love at first sight, after 7 months we were married. We celebrated 51 years of being in love, our secret is never try to be his mother and he should never try to be your father. Remember never ever go to bed mad, mostly if you have an argument once it’s over it’s over. As often as possible try to think back to what attacked you to each other and why you fell in love with her/him. For me I can’t imagine my life without the love of my life, my true soulmate, so to all you lovely people who are in love first and formost our #1 secret is to fall in love over and over again. I love my husband as much or more now than when we met.

I have a friend every year on their anniversary, she always says the story . It’s now 39 years they eloped and married. Everyone was against them getting married saying it’ll never last . They’ve 4 children ,7 granddaughters and one grandson . And they’re still madly in love

My wife and I met more than 32 years ago in Houston, Texas. She's Jamaican (don't ever confuse a Jamaican with African American or anything else!) and I'm Latino. We've been married 25+ years now. Yes, you learn that a Black woman's hair is very different from other ethnicities! Time, cost, hair products, etc. My wife has changed her hairstyle many times over the years, and each time it was a 180° turn from the previous one. I'd add "patience" to secrets of marriage longevity. Along with the other things this loving couple said, the patience to deal with the curve balls life throws at you is a must.

God bless this beautiful couple. I'm 70 and I'm pretty sure I saw them on the Newlywed Show so many years ago!

My parents were interracial my eldest sister born 1958 this was a Georgia man moved to Ohio met my mom who is Caucasian working at hospital. They are both deceased 😢. Very hard acceptance with parents as they married. Their was acts by strangers of racism and the looks. My mother did not care she was a hoot did life her way. I wish they were still with us. This couple is so much like me and my husband. I'm still on chemo for breast cancer and my husband had prostate issues and now dealing with lung cancer. We are interracial also and have been married for 10 years now. Stay blessed 🙏🏼😊🤗🥰

My Uncle and Aunt were an interracial couple , He passed 20 years ago. My Uncle is white and my Aunt is African American and they were married in Rayne Louisiana in the 70’s themself. There was so much back lash they made front page news in the town paper. they were married for 18 yrs before he passed.

They have such a positive outlook on everything 🥰

I had to "school" my husband about why I used lotion.😂 He never knew about "ashy" skin until we got married. He treated me like a queen. His family couldn't believe he married a Black woman.

These two are a true King and Queen 👑!

They are much in love with each other.. By watching them in that show newly Weds, when they were young, and seeing them now, it is obvious they are CRAZY for one another ♥️♥️🎉

There is ONE race on Earth, the HUMAN RACE! With that written Jeri and Mike are certainly a cute couple!.God bless them for having such a long, loving and successful marriage! That's a rarity in these times!

I love, love love this couple. There were plenty of interracial marriages/couples in the 1970s and prior say 1950s. I attended college in the 1970s with many students who were born in the 50s to black-white couples. No one batted an eye. I'm Black.

@@joyherring81 true .. back then it was so different. ESPECIALLY how we were received in public. People ALWAYS asked my mom if we were foster kids... Until they saw my dad... Then they looked at us like we smelled or something. I only had one other friend growing up who's "parents didn't match"... Her house was the only place that felt normal to me. As a kid... I was oblivious that it was a race issue. I'm glad things are changing ❤️

I came across them quite a while ago and found Mike rather stoic. Watching him the entire time that Jeri was speaking about her prognosis, you can see how much he deeply cares for his wife. He's doing all he can to hold it together there.

Jeri, I am just seeing this video! I am praying for you.❤ My grandma was not once, but a two time breast cancer survivor. She was first diagnosed in 1988 and they did a mastectomy of her right breast & lymphnodes. They tested her shortly after and they got all of the cancer removed. She was on a medication for years after that would help it from returning they said. I believe it was in 1997-1998 cancer returned in the same location my grandma had her mastectomy. We were all shocked because it had been 20 years and in the same area? Grandma did radiation treatments for several weeks, I don't really remember how long now, but once again she was breast cancer free!! My grandma did have cancer 4 times. First in the tip of her nose, which was quite comical because it came during my brother's graduation time and she had a cotton ball stitched to the end of her nose. The 2 breast cancer occurrences, and pancreatic cancer, which she didn't pass from. My grandma passed from a stroke. My dad, however, did pass from pancreatic cancer. I have tested positive, showed up on the CT Scan and all that I had Ovarian cancer, but Praise the Lord, when the Oncologist went in, My Ovaries were full of Abscess all around them. I tell everyone, yes! Doctors, lab techs, people saw all the right results! However God did a Miracle on Me! He wants me to tell people! I do! I don't hesitate either. I was in a very high stage of cancer according to the doctor. He didn't want to say anything until after the surgery! I am so thankful for what the Lord did for me!!❤

I lived next door to a interacial couple in the 70's in Texas things were different then people didn't go on and on about race and color The media and politics have done a lot of damage! Also my daughter is in a mixed relationship they just got married after living together for ten years they have never had any problems with people .

They are going on 47 years of marriage this year. They got married in 77 I think. I was born in 77. This is just crazy how long ago that was.

Me too, my friend. I'm 71 now. I hate to say this, but I think it all started going downhill when Obama became president. And I voted for him in '08 thinking that he would bring this country together. Just the opposite happened.
