The recent history of Bristol is one close to my heart. My friend Tony Benn represented the city for 33 years and I’ll never forget the 1963 bus boycott which lead to the company revoking its policy not to employ black or Asian people.
In May this year Bristol elected the first black city mayor in the whole of Europe - Labour’s Marvin Rees.
I felt that history and tradition on Monday when we held this inspiring rally in the city centre →
