I absolutely adore this show. TV has gone a completely different direction and I miss these programs that actually tell you something about something in an interesting way.

This documentary made me want to explore my country, it's amazing how we italians take for granted our country, thank you Jeremy.
Having been visiting Italy since 2014 and moved from the US to a small town 30km outside of Venice in 2022, there is a supermarket here, but I do most of my shopping at the small individual shops; for meat, bread, fruits and vegetables, pastries. I like it so much better. The owners get to know you. It becomes more personable, and I shop for what I need. Generally every couple of days. I’ve talked with my friends, that I worry about trying to imitate America with supermarkets, that they could be losing one of the things that makes Italy what it is. I’m so much happier here; I’m not anti-American, it’s just a better fit for me. I like that there’s never a rush.

How do you pull it off financially? I would love to move to Europe, but I can’t find a way to search for jobs for Americans abroad aside from becoming an English teacher. Any resources?
@kevinbuja8105

@@GeorgeWBushDid911 I apologize for not getting back to you sooner; I was never alerted to your query. I’m retired, and my monies are automatically deposited to my banks in America, and from there I can transfer money to my account in Italy. That is possible because one of the accounts is with PNC (Pennsylvania equivalent of Bank of America, Chase, et. al.). Unfortunately, I can’t answer your question about finding jobs in the EU. The only advice I can offer is: try the UK (downside is they’re no longer part of the EU). There are many countries both in the EU and non-EU where you can live comfortably. 2 countries off the top of my head are Portugal and Spain. In my case, my rent and utilities (for what we would call a studio) is €600/mo. That fluctuates depending on the exchange rate. For example, when I moved here in December 2022, my rent was ~$670.00/mo, now it’s ~$625.00. My friend had a 2 bedroom apartment, in the same area, that was (if I remember correctly) €700/mo including utilities. €600.00 is my only major expense. Because I’m a resident of the Venice region, I buy an unlimited monthly pass for €30.00/mo. This allows me to ride all the buses and local trains/trams as often as I want, and the vaporetto (water bus in Venice proper) is only €3.00 each way instead of the €10.00 each way. Another “perk” of being a resident is, that I can visit any country in the EU, and stay there longer than my passport would normally allow. I have no need for a car, because as I said: my food and such is within walking distance, I can take a bus just about anywhere, and I have friends that will give me a ride if I need it. I hope this answers your question. Again, I apologize for both: 1) not answering sooner; 2) not having any information about how to find work.

Go to 9:09 and run the end of the sped up section frame-by-frame. That was heart-attack territory until I realised both lanes were for the same traffic direction.
