This is one of the most touching podcasts I have ever heard. What a great glimpse into the life and teachings of Jeremiah and how they can apply to us in our day to help us have patience and courage and really know that God hears our prayers and loves each of us individually. Thanks to all three of you for the amazing spiritual feast. Thanks to Michael for allowing us to look into his heart. I believe we all have the same longing to be with our loved ones forever.

My simple little thumbs-up doesn't begin to express how much I appreciate today's discussion. Beautifully said, Kathleen. My heart is full and overflowing with the spirit and truth of these scriptures, and the willingness to share the heart of this good man.

Today’s show was extra special for me due to Brother Wilcox’s sharing about the love of longing and his wife. I am a widow of almost 3 years. My already deep love for my husband continues to deepen and I, too, long for the time we will be together again, sharing eternity side by side. He g gave me words “the love of longing “That desire is a fire inside me affecting everything I do to make me worthy that through the Savior and His Atonement we will be sealed together for eternity. I sobbed while you spoke, while smiling with joy. Thank you for sharing

I could’ve written your comment, Sister. I am a widow of 6 months, and even tho I knew my sweetheart was going thru the veil , nothing prepared me for the LONGING.. to hold his sweet hand again, to kiss his sweet lips, to hear his voice.. I know where he is and he is waiting to come and take me thru the veil. But for now, I am steadfast and immovable.. I will serve where He needs me. Thank you❤

Please convey my deep appreciation for Dr. Wilcox. His tender expressions of love for his sweetheart resonated with my own soul and my experience of longing for my eternal companion. He has been working on the other side of the veil and I hope to hear him say “yes” again. This separation is a tender experience. Thank you also for your podcasts.

Thank you for this beautiful podcast. My husband died 2 years ago and i loved Brother Wilcox’s experience he shared at the end. I also appreciate John’s response. “I think i love my wife even more right now.” We make so many jokes in church about being frustrated with our spouses, etc which i think is actually a testament to how normal we think good marriages are- but as a widow , I think, man, don’t waste your time! So Johns reaction touched me. It is almost impossible to imagine what its like to lose a loving spouse. I’m grateful for brother Wilcox’s beautiful testimony. I know God will help all of us through our hardest times.

It was a direct answer to prayer that I had been seeking for 20 years. I was so excited when I found out you were having him on again. His personal stories speak right to the heart and I again am moved. I now have a new place to look for scriptures of hope, Jeremiah has given me comfort and strength!

The most important scripture in Jeremiah is 31:31-34, It is referring to the new hope, the New Covenant, the unconditional Covenant that God made with His people. God purposed to make through the precious blood of Christ. The Son of God who shed His blood for us. The old law was replaced at the cross with a New and Better Covenant, the covenant of grace made with believers in Jesus Christ. Not to destroy the law but to fulfill it using the Holy Spirit to fill the people's hearts. We will have an increase of knowledge through Him, and our sins taken away. The New Unconditional Covenant stands on God's WORD by grace and faith alone in Christ. This is the new hope, Grace as a gift from God.

I have learned so much from Michael Wilcox over the years. I share his grief as my husband is where his Laurie is. Thank you for this insight from Jeremiah. My heart is full and mine eyes are wet. Each podcast I say “oh this is the best one yet”. Only to get to the next one and say it once again. Michael speaks to my heart and soul and this one was extra tender. I will wait upon the Lord, knowing that my husband waits too.

Dear, dear Brother/Doctor Wilcox. I'm a 75 year old old fan. I love you and, after reading and listening to you for decade's, feel I know you. Thank you SO much for making the scriptures come to life by relating them to things familiar to me, and then enlarging my understanding and my vision by introducing me to someone or something I've never heard of before. Thanks for not being afraid to share your most personal moments and struggles. (We lost a son to cancer seven years ago. A very personal and continuing struggle for me.) Your intimacy has helped and comforted! I love you!

I found the end of Dr. Wilcox's Jeremiah discussion hitting me rather hard. I have accompanied him to the Utah Shakespeare Festival 2 our 3 Times and know that he is a peerless teacher. I have also identified with him because of the death of his Laurie. My own 1st wife of 32 years died suddenly on 1/1/01. And my 2nd wife died suddenly (in Barcelona, Spain while on our 'dream' cruise of Mediterranean) after 13 years of marriage in 2015...also unexpected and also in 18 hours beginning to end. So I understand that "longing" the he so eloquently recounts about missing Laurie. The verses he cites from Jeremiah 31 were also used by Franco Zeffirelli in the script of his 1977 mini-series, Jesus of Nazareth, coming (in the script) from the mouth of Simeon as he describes the slaying of the children by Herod. So since that time I have associated those words with that event, I appreciate the additional meaning that Dr. Wilcox introduces and tying those words to the "longing" that I, too, experience daily.
