Добрый день! Спасибо вам за воспоминание ,я как будто снова побывал там! Прошло 20 лет с тех пор как я проживал в Лиссабоне и работал в монастыре Сан Жиронимо мы как раз занимались реконструкцией фонтана в центре самого монастыря это было в 2000 году сеньёр Антонио старичок был нашим управляющим, наверное уже умер. А персонал монастыря очень вежливые люди очень нам помогали во всех трудностях в чём я им весьма благодарен, веть мы были эстронжеры то есть нелегаломи потом я получил вид на жительство то есть легализацию и прожил там 6 лет,в данный момент я получаю этой весной паспорт гражданина ЕС и заново смогу вернуться туда, Португалия стала мне вторым домом! Спасибо большое создателю этого фильма!

Eu adoro o mosteiro dos Jerónimos, para mim está num patamar acima de todos os outros palácios, castelos, catedrais, etc, em Portugal. Pela sua beleza, pela sua riqueza histórica, pelo que simboliza... Merece ser visitado várias vezes, pois há sempre um pormenor novo que nos chama a atenção.

Cool to see Vasco Da Gama. Creating a direct trade route from Portugal to India which meant not having to sail through the frequently troubled middle east was important. Portugal & India are among the oldest trade partners in the world. Indians introduced us to "Paprika" which has become a part of our cultures food. Thanks India !

@Vasco Albuquerque Boa noite Vasco no Brasil temos o hábito de dizer convento pois quando referimos ao local onde os paadres ou freiras moram endereço são realizadas missas e esses cantos gregorianos são tocados geralmente são em mosteiros portanto para mim não me prendi ao fato de ser mosteiro porque aliás estava no título Você é português entendo que existe diferença no nosso linguajar Em São Paulo por exemplo existe o Mosteiro de São Bento e igrejas como a do largo de São Francisco onde tem convento de padres e também são tocadas esses cantos e também. Se você se ofendeu por parecer que fiz de propósito não foi apenas uma questão de hábito me desculpe sou uma apreciadora das artes.fica com Deus

Do they still have monks living in there? You did a great job with the captions. I was in Lisbon 2 weeks ago and accidentally found this place. It was late afternoon on a Saturday and we were lucky to be in time to join the mass. It was late and they were going to close after mass. It is an incredibly beautifully well crafted and majestic church. We sensed it was an important place but didn’t know the name. Thank you so very very much.

It is so wonderful that we have a Portuguese person to finally talk about our beautiful history. The camera panning and the editing are such wonderful works. I'm so proud of you for telling the world how wonderful our history is. I myself never knew how many great Portuguese were buried in this Magnificent monastery ( except for Da gama ;). I am proud to see this wonderful video and giving great detail on our history. Olá Gruneld! 😊 Isso mesmo, é o estilo arquitetónico que nasceu com os descobrimentos, quando D. Manuel reinava.

The type of Gothic architecture used in this building as well as that used in many other Manueline era structures in Portugal is very similar to the style used in Gothic cloisters and chapels in England -for example Henry VII chapel in West Minster Abbey etc.Parts of the Harry Potter movies were filmed in that type of building.I'm sure there was a mutual exchange of ideas and influences as Portugal and England had been allies for centuries and there was royal intermarriage.

Yes, very true Kalo! 😊 I remember seeing similar structures when I was in the UK. What distinguishes Manueline style compared to other Late Gothic styles at the time, is basically in the intricate details, how they decorated the buildings, the motifs (mostly sea-related), etc.

@@Goan806 My mother's side of the family is from Castro Daire, in the Viseu region. My father is from Régua, in the Vila Real region, the oldest demarcated wine region in the world and where Port wine is produced 😊

Hello, thank you so much! 😊 Unfortunately, big media companies here only care about reality shows, soap operas, football and singing shows. It would already make me very happy if I could at least film the places I want to film without silly bureaucratic restrictions... For example, I want to make a video about the 1755 earthquake and I'm facing unexpected difficulties, just because I want to film inside a place that everyday is visited by hundreds of tourists... Photos are ok, filming is not allowed. Makes no sense. I'll have to be sneaky 😊

Comment faites-vous pour conserver et entretenir de si beaux bâtiments échelonnés tout au long de votre si beau pays? Nous, au Québec, notre patrimoine se résume en quelques églises et monastères que nous nous dépêchons à vendre pour en éviter l'entretien.

L'entretien de monuments aussi anciens et précieux coûte cher et prend beaucoup de temps. Par exemple, une partie du monastère est utilisée pour abriter le Musée national d'archéologie. Il est actuellement en maintenance et il faudra 3 ans pour le terminer. Le musée ne rouvrira donc qu'en 2025. Il n'est pas possible d'utiliser des méthodes industrielles abrasives pour nettoyer la pierre, etc. 🙂

Boa tarde Miguel 😁 Lisboa tem muitos monumentos culturais, será que aquele grande terremoto, destruiu muitos monumentos de Lisboa ?🤔

Olá Eduardo, boa noite! 😀 Sim, o terremoto destruíu muita coisa, o principal talvez tenha sido o antigo palácio real, que ficava na atual Praça do Comércio. Calcula-se que cerca de 10 mil edifícios tenham sido destruídos e muitos outros danificados... Felizmente os Jerónimos, o Castelo de São Jorge (já fiz video lá), a Sé Catedral de Lisboa e a Torre de Belém (talvez os 4 principais monumentos de Lisboa) sobreviveram, embora todos eles com alguns danos.

Quanto a imponência acho que se esqueceram do convento de Mafra😉

Olá Carlos! 😀 O Palácio de Mafra é muito imponente pelo seu tamanho, mas o seu estilo é sóbrio (especialmente os interiores), e não tem a história ou pompa de outros monumentos. Os Jerónimos são igualmente imponentes pelo tamanho em si (a fachada é quase 100 metros mais comprida que o Palácio de Mafra), mas também pela magnificência e esplendor arquitetónico, assim como pelo que representa na história de Portugal. É o símbolo da nossa época de ouro, é uma imponência histórica que não se vê, mas que se sente. Com todo respeito e admiração que tenho pelo Palácio de Mafra, o maior monumento de Portugal em termos de área, (estive lá muito recentemente), a imponência dos Jerónimos é de outro campeonato, na minha opinião. 😊
