In 1998 everything was still done on big consoles in studios. Now it's a laptop and a UAD card. The only person who still actually has hardware is the mastering engineer, but he's working on someone's laptop stems.

I was a little kid when this song came out and I remember it was always on the radio and on tv. I remember my mom and my older sister would always sing along to it whenever it came on. The song was so hypnotic to little me. It’s crazy running into this today and hearing it for the first time in decades, now being able to understand what the song is about. Nostalgic and bittersweet feeling. Sweet good times growing up.

Errr....I have to respectfully disagree! However this is highly subjective and almost impossible to answer. The 1950s probably had the best quality of romantic ballads (Nat King Cole, Doris Day), and the 1980s had the power ballads (too many to mention!). The 1970s had the folk and pop ballads. The 1990s had a few ballads but mostly boring, over commercialised stuff like Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. I was a teen during the 1980s and it was the decade of a style genre explosion.

This song just came into my head, and it's fantastic.

i was born in 1971, the music about 90s so simply but the best to me,miss its so badly.

In 1998 I listened to this song over and over and over again.😂

There is a scene in the new Resident Evil movie which is set in 1998 where this is played and it is HILARIOUS.

Oh yeah 1998 was awesome for music..although I was 7 or 8 years old but my sister used to watch Mtv all day long..and this song was on Mtv a lot! Really miss those days.

I know what you mean, but some people don't remember Jennifer Paige. Most People remember Britney, Christina, N'Sync or Backstreet Boys as pop music artists back in 90's.

This song has a fairly decent bassline, something I never quite noticed before. 'The full package' as far as pop music from that era goes, is quite underrated.
