    It’s cool to see how Adam’s kindness sort of disarms Jennifer as the interview goes along. She comes across as very tense and self-controlled for at first, but Adam is so real and so down-to-earth. It’s always tranquilizing to speak with a genuine person. Side note: authors should do this kind of thing too.

    He seems like a real class act, Jennifer should learn something from him. I had no feelings regarding her previously but dang she gives off an extremely ungrateful, elitist vibe which makes me feel this is her true attitude rather than the "down to earth" "sweet" persona she puts on for media. Really uncomfortable interview, he had to react to her repeatedly bragging about how rude she is to her fans.. not great Jennifer, not great.

  • @danaglabeman6919

    @danaglabeman6919

    5 ай бұрын

    I think the issue with mother! is that it's basically classical high allegory, something your average person isn't aware is a thing, let alone finds value in as a piece of film. Classical high allegory had its heyday in the 17th and 18th centuries, so it's conveying a 21st century message using a 300 year old storytelling technique. I also thought is was sort of brilliant, but not everyone's ready to see a medium usually devoted to entertainment used that way. A great many people see the purpose of movies as "tell us a story" and while there's nothing wrong or lesser in that approach, a movie like mother! just isn't made for people who can't/won't approach it on its own turf.

    I just discovered this Actors on actors series and I just want to say kuddos to the creators of this series. The pairings are well thought out and create interesting conversations and points of views that we wouldn't normally see or hear in normal interviews. I think it's because the actors can identify with each other and are able to share their own experiences. Great job!

    @ everyone hating on jen: when she’s doing normal people activities (shopping, having lunch, seeing a movie) she probably wants to be treated like a normal person. BUT, when she’s at a movie premiere, fully glammed out, getting a million pictures taken, i have noticed she’s way more open to interacting with fans, taking pics, and other stuff. how would you feel to be out in public in sweatpants and an old tshirt and have someone come up to you and ask for a picture; she deserves to have a private, uninterrupted life like everyone else.

    You can tell from how Adam Sandler talks to her that he's probably a fairly humble person who hasn't let fame go to his head (or has recovered from it). He is old enough to know that fame and fortune involve a lot of luck. For every person who has made it big in entertainment, there are thousands of others who are just as talented but have not had that big break. He has also had some projects that didn't go so great and that will give you some perspective too. Jennifer Lawrence is still very young. Early success can make you crazy, you suddenly have money, people say they love you. But, you are surrounded by fake people and you don't know who to trust. So, you have everything and nothing. That is why a lot of young, famous people end up committing suicide. Hopefully she'll keep it together and not end up a member of the 27 club.

    Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore.....Classics!! The problem is people/critics don't take the movie for what it is. They want it to give them something that it wasn't meant to give them. If it challenges their humor or Mother! it's somewhere they've never had to go with a movie so they immediately hate on it instead of going on the journey with them whether it's comedy or a challenging drama with tons of symbolism. Not everybody is going to love every movie. But nobody should hate on them as much as they do. Love the actor on actor series. Keep it up!

Big fan." And walked over and talked to me for like ten minutes while he was waiting for his food. So chill.

    I had the pleasure to see and "Kindof" meet him (Adam) in Jax during the superbowl, he was celebrating his b-day at one of our Riverside Restaurants and we had the section next to his closed off section. He was with Rob Schnieder who and a couple of other familiar guys, it was the best night, we sang happy birthday to him ;-) He was casual in a baseball cap and like sweats i think? It was great and we had actually just met Matthew Cougney just prior to that! For some reason many of the Celebs went to this particular restaurant during the Superbowl....Glad they did ;-))

    Great video and this series always pairs performers who have or develop chemistry with each other. I agree that JLaw was tense when this started but loosened up due to the Sandman's down to earthness (if there is such a word). JLaw has a procedure of making friends with her leading men (ie. Chris Pratt). That happens in private, but this time we got to see it. They should do a movie together, and they could film it in Manhattan; I believe it would be great!

    Much respect for Adam Sandler. He and Robert Downey Jr.(The Soloist 💗)don't just talk, they walk the walk and actually try to make a difference in this world. I live in NH and his contribution to the Manchester Boys and Girls Club is just one example of the kind of person he is. He's come a long way from Remote Control. Have you seen Jennifer Lawrence's movie No Hard Feelings? I recommend it. I had a wonderful time with my mother seeing it in the theater. Of course I admit it was a little awkward to watch a sex-themed movie with a close family member and then the nude scene was hilarious, and again, a bit awkward, but all-in-all, we had a great time. I need to rewatch it soon. 😊 Also check out Adam's film Uncut Gems. Another really good movie.

But her giggling while saying she refuses to accept people’s social cues and relishing in the opportunity to fangirl to extremes over one of her personal heroes, Adam Sandler all while speaking of getting annoyed at / being rude to fans who see her as their personal hero is almost unforgivingly hypocritical.

    Taley I really don't think it's the same. Today Adam is working and she's showing her admiration for his work. If Jennifer was at a premiere or doing anything that's not in her personal time, then she always shows her fans how appreciative she is and signs autographs, etc. But if she is just going about her daily life and someone asks for a selfie then that is very different. I'm sure even if someone came up to her and said "I love your work" then it would be fine. But someone asking for a selfie most likely isn't even a fan, they probably just want to show everyone that they met a celebrity. Also if she takes a selfie with someone then it can be posted on social media within minutes, then all of a sudden everyone knows where she is. There are a lot of reasons for her to do this, as well as the fact that it is rude to interrupt what she is doing to demand a selfie and get angry when she says no.
