Jennifer Hudson has one of the best voices that I've heard in my lifetime.

I have heard this song a thousand times I’m sure through out my lifetime,but when I heard this song from Jennifer Hudson it just truly touched my heart and made me cry in a way that brought me closer to my Lord Jesus Christ. She Sang it beautifully.❤I am sure the Lord was smiling from heaven 😊

I’m so glad that she did not listen to Simon, because she knew she had a gift that the world should hear. One of the best voices this day.

Mariah Carey’s version is best, it’s from the heavens. The soulfulness and emotions she puts into it is crazy. The trills and runs aren’t too much because they perfectly go with the song and vibe and are sung with passion and emotion. Crazy goosebumps every time.

Two singers shouldnt be compared to each other (i.e. Mariah Carey / Jenniffer Hudson). This is a Gospel Song. Every artist has their own voice, their own story and their own expression and unique sound. I wouldn't compare Luther Vandross to James Brown, neither Stevie Wonder to either as each are unique in their sound. But they are all BLESSED with their talent. Well done Jennifer. Just played it (first song of the day to get my day started) and have to say.. i feel a beautiful sense of calm after hearing. Blessings

I agree with you. I just commented on a different thread where I said that although I think Mariah's version was better, imo. I also stated I would love to hear Jennifer do this in the studio because you can't really compare studio to non-studio. Now let's say for one moment that Jennifer does it in studio and can't do it better....AND! Let's hear Mariah do "and I am telling you" studio, live, at the bottom of the ocean, on the moon I don't care nobody's topping Jennifer or even the other Jennifer LOL you can have two equally gifted singers even in the same genre who can do one song or the other better than the other. Once again, comparing the two versions I've heard I give it to Mariah but overall I would take Jennifer any day.

I look at the comments and am saddened. Music is meant to touch souls combined with the words and meaning it becomes very powerful. This particular song was sung by many, in as many different ways. some I liked, others I loved, and then there was those very few that I wish would have been much longer, because they were so beautiful. I do not expect everyone to love those versions as much as I do, nor will I ridicule them for not loving them as much. I merely wish that you close your eyes, hear the words, and the passion that the artist sings, and that is where you will find the beauty. The beauty of how the artist brings their touch and emotion to the song. This is the season to think about a baby that changed the world that became a man of love....for everyone. Start showing love, for without it we are doomed.
