Hi from Australia, I remember my dad playing that song about I owe my soul to the company store and i used love that song and now it makes so much sense another day older and deeper in debt. Wow that was so cool and very interesting. Thank you heaps for the history lesson.👍🏻

I grew up just a few short miles from here in Anawalt. I remember riding bicycles all throughout the 80s and “exploring” all those buildings

In Europe everywhere you look there are buildings that are older than our country here in the US. We have so many places like this full of collapsing structures that aren't even 100 years old!!

Grew up and went to school nearby. Sad to see what became of McDowell county WV. Back in the 50s and 60s it was a good, safe place to grow up.

just loved your intro like I was pretty sad to see all those places just either gone empty are either burnt down I love the history of anything that was a sad story a very true story people working for what company gain and sad it still goes on today in a lot of places and you need to be careful going into some of those places God that one Building look like it was ready to collapse , until the nexted adventure besafe 😊 👻 ❤

My daddy worked consal no 8 left main sat on company store steps many times and watched my daddy meet at the union hall many manyoon pie and knee hi. Drank. Bwas told I had three half sisters but don't know would love to meet them but like many men my daddy was fucked out of retirement
