A self-described “traveling fool and nature freak,” Jenifer takes readers with her all over the world, from Cape Town to Bali; Washington, DC, to the Serengeti; Mongolia to St. Petersburg; and Argentina to Antarctica to demonstrate how she walks in her joy by seeking pleasure in everyday encounters. Every step of the way you’ll be doubled over with laughter as she faints at the Obamas’ holiday party; awakens to a swollen face and has to go to the hospital during the height of the Covid pandemic; an alien visitation; a successful takedown of a conman; as well as meeting a handsome Maasai warrior and being chased by a Cape buffalo.
An actress, activist, and mental health advocate, Jenifer Lewis imparts ways to love yourself that will allow you to deflect negative energy and keep people who may come to take your joy in check. She stresses the importance of fully living to your greatest ambitions and taking the time to admire the world’s natural gifts. She also encourages embracing each other’s uniqueness as a way of finding societal healing. Walking in My Joy is a riveting and enthralling journey.

This is the most impactful interview I have EVER seen and took in. As a black man fighting as an artist late in my youth, I would give anything to meet and be in her presence. I left the box when I realized that I can’t compete trying to be like everyone else, but I can shine like a star when I just let the gifts God gave me guide me. In my generation I can only be so lucky to reach out to fellow artists. Jennifer you are an icon and wise beyond the courageous trail you blaze! I will meet you one day and I hope you see this is I can speak about it directly to you. Someone said, “You can’t write a book” I wrote 9! Someone says you can’t aspire to be an entertainer and I am international and still they doubt. They said I can’t get a degree- I went and got three or them. All 4.0gpa at 45! I’ll fly anywhere to meet ya!

you find it easier to make adult decisions as you get older the challenge is staying alive long enough to get older and then you pass that Spirit on to the next individual (s) in order to perpetuate it it becomes greater it becomes weaker as it goes along and eventually it is a whole new animal but the thing is to look back in give them a start they must respect the elders though they have a lot more than they can imagine and it's not just money that's about 10% of it all like I was taught to do gas water electrical and I look back still but I don't have to I'll need to help those behind me for them to accept that and run with it and a positive way that makes life worth living
