I feel like everyone hating missed the point of the video lol. It never claimed to be an iconic look, the title literally just says “waves with Rosie Huntington” lol. everyone get of their high horse. Lol you gotta pay attention to where she’s putting the product and how much! Usually your roots, mid lengths, and ends need different types of product! So it seems like a lot, but overall it’s not a ton of product!

I have the hardest time curling my own hair, I always burn my hand or neck or some other part of my body, but these are some great tips, I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it though, it looks very simple but knowing from my experience it’s not that easy 👍👍👍

Liz Nguyen yes she used more than 3 products but she was actually referring to the amount of product used which is really tiny compared to the big amount you would need for someone with thicker hair. 🙂

R J she didn’t really say, but I guess by doing the part BEFORE curling/styling? Some people probably part it afterwards and it may not lay right based on how you curled it

Buy one of those teasing combs that basically have a thin, needle type thing on the end (no clue how you call it), but she used the same type of a comb on rosie. It’s super thin so you can part your hair really nicely with it

Honestly it’s just getting your finger dexterity and hand strength down. It’s not the most difficult thing. Why do you want to learn how to use a marcel, specifically? There are lots of other tools that are much more accessible and easier to use than a marcel iron!

That was the whole point. Teaching Rosie and her audience how to do this look on their own at home... hence being a tutorial. This was not a showcase of what Jen is capable of doing.

Hair dressers do much more than styling though. Long hair styling (curling, flat ironing, blow outs) are the easiest to do, in a sense. But there are various types of curls you can do with an iron that all give very different results. On top of that, iron curls differ from all the curls done in roller sets, in pin curls etc. They all produce curls but the techniques and end results of each vary greatly, and they’re all very different to master too. She wasn’t making anything up, if anything I felt like she was putting it as simply as possible to avoid sounding pretentious by using any technical terms. Updo styling, wet styling, extensions, chemical relaxing and perming, braiding techniques, cuts and color specializing, that’s what separates hair dressers from a person who styles their hair at home. This tutorial was made for the person at home, not an expert stylist
