Hyde doesn't wear shoes or glasses. Jekyll turns back and has the shoes and glasses. I understand what he did with the glasses, he just put them somewhere in his clothes, but does Hyde have a special place for the shoes or are they just magic?

From 3:34 on is just a masterpiece. You can visibly see Jekyll taking on more of Hyde’s grand gestures and ambitious, confident tone. There is no question here, unlike Confrontation. Jekyll and Hyde _are_ one and the same, no matter how each tries to define the line.

There's 4 personalities in the original book. Henry Jekyll Edward Hyde Henry Hyde(Jekyll with aspects of Hyde) Edward Jekyll(Hyde with aspects of Jekyll) That's why we see aspects of both in one and then a full switch with a different scene.

@@heyyo966 the book stated that Jekyll and Hyde were the same person, but Jekyll was the logical and civilized part of the brain and Hyde was the instinctual primitive side. However the book and subsequent musical can be used as a way to understand OSDD-1B and DID at an elementary level

The line “for whatever he wants take possession of me.” really bothered me. Jekyll doesn’t recognize these are his thoughts. Things he wants to do but doesn’t. Hyde is merely acting on it.

@TK Wallace no lie there, that's basically his body too, so he has no one else to head over to besides Jekyll, thus the famous ship, tho my logical reason was cause his wants was more of a lustful disire maybe for jekyll, lucy, or really anyone that isn't dead, besides killing and lustful hyde is a dicent man, like his Dr counterpart, Hyde is mad, but he was no more human than we all are ourselves, even when we don't like admitting it.

In this version, Jekyll is more repressed than his book counterpart, which is probably why he can't recognize that Hyde and himself are one in the same. He's spent so much time distancing himself from his intrusive thoughts that he can no longer recognize them as himself. Hyde, however, recognizes that the two have never been different - and it's arguable that Confrontation is him trying to force Jekyll to realize it and end this whole mess. But Jekyll was arrogant, and him trying to kill Hyde lead to Hyde retaliating, and getting them both killed when he realized that others would be dragged into this mess.

You know, Jekyll is actually borderline sounding like Hyde. The ' I will not be cheated' line kinda sealed the deal for me on that.

Why the artist S.K. Michels is a vivid example of creative brilliance. By Jaden. *Ahem* Through every animatic this person created, whether from Jekyll and Hyde, Hunchback of Notre Dame, or other individual projects, they truly think deeply of human emotions and characteristics. For example, within this animatic, S. K. Michels allows the audience to understand everything each character is going through with a single frame. Example, Lucy/Emma appearing for roughly two-three scenes is visibly conflicted not only with Henry Jekyll's actions and determination, but for their own self. Next, the character designs of each character is absolutely brilliant. Each character design not only matches the character's personality traits and habits (within the character's body language). Personally, I understand that these characters are 2-D + from a musical, but this artist truly makes them human. They become 3-D. Real. Summary, S. K. Michels is a genius and deserves every bit of love and support for their work. They are extremely talented and has the possibility to influence the art world and musical world for the better. As an actor, I truly wish to call these animatics a truly beautiful theatric.

Coming back to this, it tears at me how this song comes immediately before A New Life; at the end of this Henry thinks he still has a chance to defeat Edward and live free, but at the end of the next song the tragedy finally takes full form.

Buuut I can tell you, the one I've actually rewatched the most is "Someone Like You" (and I really don't rewatch my animatics). That one is just so darn cute to me! Also, I love any animatic where I can draw Hyde :)

My heart will actually break when this series ends, I did not expect to find such beautiful animatics for Jekyll and Hyde of all things but I'm glad I did

Well hey. He’s a lefty, like me.

Thing I love about the musical? It doesn't forget that at the end of the day? Jekyll was just a man trying to understand why people loose their way. He wasn't a god but he wasn't a demon either. He was just a man and nothing more. And people make mistakes and terrible choices. Now before you send replies saying I justify his actions as Hyde? No. That's not at all true. I don't at all condone that. What I'm saying is I get why this spiraled. Thing about both the book and the musical? They show one fatal flaw in Henry's initial plan - he didn't take any precautions should something go horribly wrong. He didn't seem to factor that in, not even when he used himself as a test subject. I personally think that was the real turning point in the musical because he let his ideal blindsight him.
