Broadway uses "color blind" casting, it's based on talent not on physical description

first time I've ever heard this one. it has potential, and he really started working it at the end, but the intro was ghastly.

They were both on the Evan album, but Cuccioli's album was the Broadway recording, and they cut the songs so the show wouldnt be too long, they cut/changed quite a bit actually...

Go see it NOW.... this version is better, and sexier, and hotter and sung like nothing on Broadway..... his rock voice is perfectly directed and perfectly sung..... amazing, and just one song is worth the price.... just one song by Constantine is worth the price.... and he sings the heck out of that music

how come I Need to Know and Bring on the Men weren't included in the Cuccioli and Evan version of the album?

Agreed--it is very JSC-like. However, I did see this production live, and I wasn't impressed. It wasn't an improvement from this recording. The big things with this particular revival were the sets and special effects. The whole cast, and Constantine especially, relied too heavily on the environment rather than acting his songs. He just stood there and sang (with not a lot of conviction, I might add.) IMO, this song will always belong to Anthony Warlow.

For some reason, this rendition reminds me of "Jesus Christ Superstar" or "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Again, Constantine's singing is adequate, but too high pitched for this role. I don't mind how pop it sounds; what's getting me is the seeming lack of emotion in this album. It's like they're just singing without acting. Maybe it's different on stage, but for this recording, I feel like they're phoning it in.

i think I would love it. Plus why did Utterson have to be portrayed by a black man? Not to sound prejudiced, but I was surprised to see a white man was going to portray him tis time
