I was so proud of Milwaukee for buying all the places, fridges, apartment building anything Dahmer, and destroying it. So it cannot be taken as souvenirs for the weirdos out there, to sell on eBay. These were people he killed, and they bought it all up so no scavengers could profit from their deaths. Was a true sicko.

I lived here for 50+ years and went to same HS (Milwaukee Tech) from 1986 to 1990. I had 2 classes with Konerak's older brother and stood on the same bus stop as they did after school. I remember in 1991 (living with my girlfriend who I met at Milwaukee Tech) seeing the local breaking news of law enforcement bring out the barrels.

I just got a notification because I replied to a comment (thread) a while back. This whole horrific tragedy hits home, literally. I went to school with Konerak's brothers. We all went to Milwaukee Trade & Technical HS in the mid to late 80's. Konerak's first year was 1990-91. I had several classes with his brothers and they were all really well mannered and very smart kids. I graduated the year before Konerak started his freshman year. I'm posting this because I feel very lucky that I never was approached by Dahmer. In 1990 I was 18 and in my senior year and waited at the exact same bus stop as the Sinthasomphone brothers. It was by 2nd and National, the street where all the "gay" bars were. Of course back then, I had no idea. I was young and stupid back then. I'm a Mexican American, I was fit and athletic, and never had a problem attracting girls. I have been approached by young gay men several times in my life, especially between the ages of 16 to 20 (1988 to 1992). TBH, there is no doubt in my mind that Dahmer would have approached me had he seen me by myself. Thank God I had a lot of friends who I took the bus with. Of course there were times I had to stay and serve detention and wouldn't leave school until after 4pm. While waiting on bus stop it would be dark (middle of winter). Fast forward 1 or 2 years later and I'm living with my girlfriend (about 1 mile from the HS we all attended and 2 miles from Grand Avenue Mall). The mall is where Dahmer picked up Konerak. We (me & my girlfriend) were watching the 10:00pm news on NBC on Tuesday July 23rd, 1991 . I remember seeing the police with the blue barrels. I remember looking at my girlfriend and both of us were in shock! The apartment was only 5 mins from our house (her mom's house). In the following weeks and months we learned so many more gruesome details and then learning about Konerak. I met my girlfriend at the same HS that Konerak and all his brothers attended. We all took the same bus to go to and from school. Anyways, this is something I will never forget and it truly hit me when I realized that I could have been a victim pretty easily. Although I was not gay, I was always broke and back then, if someone offered me $50 or $100 to take pics, I may have agreed. I was not afraid and was a capable fighter (studied martial arts and self defense) but that doesn't matter if someone can talk you into a vulnerable situation and drug you or render you defenseless. Back then, there was not the media attention of today and our parents shielded us from evil things like this. My parents and teachers always stressed NEVER going anywhere with a stranger, not even talking to one. As we get older, we get more bold and start to think we are in control and smarter than we really are. I truly hope any young people learn from this awful tragedy, and NEVER, and I mean NEVER agree to do anything with anyone you don't know or trust 100%!!!!!

The poor Laotian boy died because police officers had chosen to ignore to find out. If the boy were a young white American boy, I'm sure that the polices would have put more attention. It was all about racism and discrimination. Literally, he was a minor at the age of 14 at that time.

Dahmer received an honorable discharge in March 1981. Even if he were a total complete fuckup in the military dishonorable discharges are still reserved for very serious offenses usually committed during wartime. Even a bad conduct discharge is only given out for criminal behavior, not just for being a lousy soldier or sailor.

Dahmer was one sick subhuman. If Wisconsin had the death penalty, he was certainly the best example of the perfect candidate. There was no doubt by anyone that he may not have committed his terrible crimes. Still, I can’t give any kudos to his execution by another inmate (yes, I know it happens all the time; but it’s not right). Dahmer’s story is not one Wisconsinites care to dwell on, but his story must not be forgotten.

From shooting the town bully to a crazy women killing a pregnant woman and cutting her baby out ( I know it’s graphic)! It’s interesting! I know some channels have done the The Skidmore bully story, but your pretty thorough with your research! May be a future trip 😀

Grew up with Dahmer. Loved right up the street and rode my bus. Odd even when he was in school at Revere. Had a terrible upbringing and his mom was a bit wonky. His dad was such a nice man. He tried to help so many times, but sadly, Dahmer was already broken. He definitely got what he deserved. So many innocent lives lost because of this animal.

Well his grandma's house actually looks pretty cute. I was expecting something spooky-looking. I mean, the door is off-center, and it's not, like graciously beautiful or anything; it could definitely use some improvement. I mean, the walkway up to it is just a straight shot, really plain, up to the door; no little arrangement of a fountain or anything one likes to see when walking up to a house, but that's all I can see wrong with it. Maybe it is on Indian burial ground or some reason he really went crazy there. As far as the vacant lot where his building was, it's a perfect dog park or something. Much better than leaving that stupid building standing.
