Jefferson 60 Motor Yacht Tour | Part 3 - Accommodations And Bridge

Welcome to your in-depth VIP tour of OLOH, our 60 foot Jefferson Marquessa Motor Yacht. This is no breeze-through! We dive deep into lots of details about the boat and the projects we've taken on and are taking on in our ongoing refit.
Part 3 takes you through OLOH's accommodations deck including our multifunction Captain's Lounge along with the VIP, Guest and Primary staterooms. And wait until you see OLOH's hallway (properly called a passageway on a boat). Then it's up to perhaps what is our favorite space on board, OLOH's bridge deck. You'll see a couple of projects we've taken on there as well as the dual purpose functionality of our tender deck. And be sure to catch the special Jasper love at the very, very end of the video!
For links to some of what we feature in this part of the tour, head to myoloh.com/oloh-tv-your-vip-t...
Have questions or need details about anything we feature? Hit us up in the comments section and we'll do our best to help.
Welcome aboard and... enjoy!

    As I daydream about my "maybe one day", when I'm able to get a cruising yacht of my own and do what you do, I've looked at many, many walkthrough videos of various boats. I have never seen one that had the engines configured like that, and you're right. That passageway to the Master makes the boat look absolutely massive. Thanks for the peek belowdeck!

    Pretty cool right? We love yacht design because of the inherent challenges it presents with economizing space. The interior volume definitely belies the boat's LOA, largely because of that feature. And while there are obvious compromises (as in all things boating), on balance, it works really well in our opinion. Cheers!

    Just a lovely boat. Purposeful lines, well thought out interior and best bridge deck ever! Interesting salon note - as an avid trawler fan, I’m nearly constantly mystified (disappointed!) by the designers’ insistence on bolt upright settee/sectionals - a la Grand Banks for instance. Yours looks much more comfortable.

    Thanks, as always George. The boat we almost bought was bigger and had a full walk-through ER and full access all around. Since we were compromising on that with OLOH, at least having simple access for daily checks was critical to us. And while it's a tight squeeze on the outboard sides of the engines we can really get to everything without too much difficulty. Cheers to you guys!

    Can you send your hardware out and have it re-plated in chrome? I also suspect on the handles that the "bar" between the two attach points can be removed and swapped out with something.

  • @OLOH

    @OLOH

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hey Bob - yeah, we've looked into that a bit but we're trying a few other options first including doing something like that ourselves which we'll be experimenting with this summer. We've ordered a few different latches that appeared to be an exact match from the specs but didn't ultimately work without modifications. There are so many of them so we're doing our best to keep it as simple as possible (few things on boats are simple). We had the same thought about the handles but that's been challenging as well - and the Admiral is a master sourcer with parts. But we'll get it figured out eventually. Cheers!

  • @OLOH

    @OLOH

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Scott! We really appreciate the kind words. Jasper is very good about waiting until there is an opportunity to go ashore. We keep our cruising days to a comfortable amount of time for him and always stay at marinas or at anchorages where we know we can easily land the tender several times a day so he can do what needs to be done at comfortable intervals. All that said, most dogs can be trained at any age to go on board in a designated spot and we'd like to do that so we can more easily and safely spend more time at anchor. We did fresh bottom paint about 2.5 years ago and it has done well with touch up for now. We are planning to take the whole bottom down and start fresh which is obviously a much bigger job, but it's due. For a normal, two coat job by a good yard in Fort Lauderdale, the all-in bottom paint number is around $5K. That's with around $2K in paint for the bottom and running gear, haulout and all labor. We've had good luck with Petit Barnacle Barrier on our gear so we are not using PropSpeed which is much more expensive.

    Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. We have considered options similar to what you've mentioned and working with the space to the right of the fridge continues to be something we're looking at. The reality is, we really enjoy having a workspace on the main deck (that view) and something there would be tough to give up. The desk area in the Captain's Lounge, while occasionally used for work, is mostly for storage. It's tough being below decks when it's beautiful outside. But we're not done yet and we'll be sure to post about what we do. Cheers!
