One of the best guitar players ever. And probably the humblest. Him and Paul Gilbert should have a humbleness battle lol

He grew up behind the Ottawa Citizen building. Our newspaper. He's one of the most respected guitarists in metal, and they have never written a word about him. But people who know metal, know who he is. One of the very best.

He’s right. I learned guitar from my younger brother who taught himself. Learning patterns and training your ear can go a long way. You DONT need music theory to be a good guitarist

5:32 What is the name of that beautiful song Jeff Is playing at the end?, sounds like early Children Of Bodom, but then Jeff and Annihilator were a huge influence on Laiho and early COB.

most of slayer solos sound like kerry just went: "fuck it ill just noodle my fingers somehow on the fretboard see what comes up" I kinda like that approach sometimes, you dont always need a berkeley music theory nerd telling you something does not fit into a certain scale or that some note is incorrect to a certain pattern or whatever. Especially for fast thrash metal the fuck it approach works pretty well

Look at his live solo , it s the same as on the Album. Its got a pitch shift/ modulation in it. He knows exactly what he s doing and knows all the theory. He s a liar
