That’s what I was thinking too. How cool is it to hear it honestly right from the source how to play these passages correctly and what can be done to improve. At the end of the day don’t we all want to play as perfectly as possible??
My personal opinion is Jeff Loomis may be the most underrated prog. metal guitarist ever, and also Nevermore definitely one of the most underrated metal bands.

Met Jeff on a bar 9 yrs ago. Incredibly nice guy. Really calm spirit type of guy :) Very patient because we had a ''fanboy'' with us but he still made us feel like one of them. Show was 10/10! Edit: I just realized he's going to turn 50 this year?! He looks great!
One of my friends introduced me to Nevermore in 1999. Jeff Loomis has been one of my favorite guitarists since then. He has greatly influenced my playing and song composition. Thank you Jeff for years of enjoyment.
When you got Jeff and Ola on the same video you know it's gonna be good as hell...huge fan of both...metal up👊🤘
Jeff is not only a monster guitar player, but seems like such a chill dude
5:37 had me laughing my ass off 😂 "Goddamnit Jeff Loomis.." Jeff: I laugh at you mere mortals.🤣
Jeff is one of the most HUMBLE musicians I've have even known in my life. Great guy.
Plains of Oblivion is a straight up goddamn masterpiece! Can't wait for another solo album!
I need nevermore again!!
I'm a drummer but I'll always watch and listen to Loomis' playing . Detail and finesse put him over the top.
I want to thank you Jeff for putting such a personal "stamp" on your sound/tone and musical identity.....it's immediately recognizable....fresh and always dark. And that's the thing we all should be shooting for....learning as much as we can and then putting our own twist on things to forge our own signature styles, This is something Jeff has done in a big big way.....Jeff is unmistakably Jeff, and we all thank you for that!! Keep it up metal master!
Loomis is so good he makes me want to turn my guitars into lamps.
Every time I see Jeff loomis I go and practice. How can you not ?
the whole video of Ola recreating the Dead heart in a Dead World tone was A. Super informative with nailing that gnarly guitar tone and B. fucking hilarious
This is one of the best cover reacts I've seen.
There will never be another band like Nevermore. The chemistry between you Jeff and the other guys was so unique!
How can you not like Jeff and Ola? :)
I have never seen Jeff doing anything else other than playing llol. This was really cool, he's quite the gentleman.
One of the nicest dudes ever! Jeff Loomis Fan Club, Phx, AZ- FOREVER
The "Doing the Riffs" guys are WI natives, just like Loomis himself. They are in a progressive metal band called Pangaea. They also skate a lot better than their intro shows.
Jeff is such a gentleman. I love how he's just genuine about the things he sees
Well finally someone mentions their mistakes. Also he's so cool for remembering his fans.
hes reacting to his own music and hasnt got a copyright strike yet? come on youtube do your job!!
simply the best modern metal guitarist. every riff is so unique, Jeff is a real monster
Good for you keeping the respect level up man. It can be so easy to trash talk people (which would probably get more views unfortunately). Never heard Nevermore before, but between the killer riffs and your awesome attitude, I'll be sure to look for albums now.

@@thrashfan4ever That's what the internet is good for. I had never heard of Nightwish until a few years ago when the whole "Vocal Coach Reacts..." stuff started taking off. Now I own everything of theirs that I know of. I don't know how many times I got the "how can you possibly not know..." treatment. lol - hey, sometimes the best things in life pass us by. At least we get the joy of finding them when we do :D
Jeff and Michael Amott are for me THE most inspiring guitarists over many many years! Because of him, I tried out Sevenstrings many years ago and that and his constant output of great stuff pushed me and my playing to another level and it still does! And you can see in every Interview or in this video, he is a super cool down to earth guy!
Dude, remembering a fan who showed up to a signing is the sign of a good guy! Think about how many people he sees at any event!
"The River Dragon" really has become some kind of guitarist benchmark for me. One day, oh, one day, I'll be able to do it as well!
It must be so weird creating something cool, and then watching people play it. I feel that if I ever did something like Jeff does, I would be amazed watching people play my riffs, lol, like "wow, so THAT'S how it looks like" hahahaha.
Met him few years back when he was touring Plains of Oblivion on the Euroblast tour. Super friendly and approachable. Just an awesome guy.

I love seeing covers of Loomis's music but watching him play is awesome, the articulation is something else.
What a nice guy :) no arrogance whatsoever. And it’s nice that he was critical of the videos instead of pointlessly complimentary
Hard to imagine a better player, and more importantly, a more genuine person. Thanks, JST for putting all these vids up and honoring one of the best guitar players to ever live!

Hell YES, props for namedropping Christian. Such an amazing, AMAZING axeman, that somehow still flies under the radar of even alotta diehard death metal fans. Totally underrated, especially given that he battles focal dystonia in his fretting hand, and had to slowly but surely change the way he frets writes/plays certain parts ENTIRELY. But if you didn't already know he has F.D., you'd NEVER know he's combatting a medical condition the entire time he's playing. He's simply fucking one of the best to ever pick up the instrument 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
