Prof Ngugi is a hero. I admire his work a lot. His, Wizard of the Crow, entirely covers the whole Moi regime that you don't need to dig so much in the Archives to unearth the history of ' Era Moi'. How Prof manages to draw his mind on a paper with a pen as the only tool, awesomely explains the magnitude of his sixth sense. He is my role model.

Having read ngugis book Dreams in a Time of War: A Childhood Memoir the book reminded of my childhood growing in Kiambaa Kenya. Great real life story especially for those of us who grew up in kenya. Totally worth reading.

Prof. Or should I say Profs, we salute you. As a country we are so proud of you, this is what should be the face of our country, honesty, hard work, integrity, etc. not corruption and land grabbing. I'm so inspired by what this family has achieved and especially from such humble beginnings in the case of the senior prof. we adore you. I couldn't get enough of this conversation.

@climatechangeKE Ngugi is proof you don't need material wealth or a political office to influence rich thinking in a people. I especially like his philosophy, "Imagination is the greatest equalizer"

... But why don't prof. Come back and impart that knowledge and ideas to Kenyans and Africans at the University of Nairobi. Professor has actually seen the light and he has tried to escape with thoughts to liberate his people but has failed. If he was teaching in Africa, at least we would have many inspired and mentored by him.

@@willypaul8847 It would be prudent for the prof to teach the African students at the university of Nairobi, teaching them about the light he has seen. This is what I mean.

Moi's dictatorial8 leadership in the 80's made many lecturers flee. They were hunted down as dissidents.Apart from Ngugi, We have now late Prof Micere Mugo, Maina wa Kinyatti,.Prof Ali Mazrui etc...I think they opted to live and work in the US even when Moi exited in 2002.
