I think Gordon was upset with him not for passing him but it seems like Jr cut him off. Gordon took the high road and let up instead of wrecking like 3 or 4 cars.

That’s what it looked like to me as well. He had to lift of the throttle quite a bit coming out of the turn since JR was being so aggressive.

That's why Gordon is such a legend. He mostly took the high road and raced others with respect, and let things go, unlike Jr's dad Dale Earnhardt who would just plain wreck ya if you were about to beat him. Like he did to Terry Labonte at Bristol in 1999. Dale Sr. would just dump you if you annoyed him. Gordon didn't do that.

That is so true. Haters are gonna hate, I guess. I'm a huge Gordon fan, and yet I understand both sides of this argument. I can see why Gordon was mad b/c he had to check up when Jr. came under him and that cost him several spots. Had he not checked up, Jr. would've came across Gordon's nose and caused a big wreck. However, Jr. did make a clean pass. They're teammates and they'll get over it. I'm sure by right now it's water under the bridge.

So you're going to judge a 21 year career based off of one season that he's getting snake-bitten in? Not to mention, add on that another winless driver is doing better than him? I don't know about you, but that sounds a little hypocritical. I think you're just favoring Jr./hating on Jeff so much you have to take the smallest facts and emphasize on them to make Jr. sound better than Jeff. Besides, the standings mean NOTHING right now, 'cause the chase decides the outcome.

The 4 wide wasn't the problem. Jr. had a fast car, so he had to make his way around traffic somehow. But where Jr. made his mistake is when he pulled up right in front of Jeff. I almost thought Jr. went kamakazi.

I've been a fan of Gordon since his rookie year. I never hated Big E like other 24 fans. I thought he was amazing -- the perfect hard-knocks, grease-under-the-nails gear head you must respect. Admittedly, my driver was a pretty boy. He didn't work on engines and marketed through image and skill vs. tradition and skill. Gordon, though, did earn his ride. He raced from a young age. They were different, and their rivalry helped the sport. I love Little E, but he's not his dad. HMS has tried hard.

Honestly at those speeds they are running at Michigan. I can kind of understand Jeff getting mad. Especially after what happened with Jeff Burton at Texas in 2010.

(Cont. from below): HMS has tried hard to get Junior a title. Rick would want nothing more and has put his best into the No. 8 to get him the Cup. Junior isn't a bad driver, but, like Kyle Petty wasn't Richard, Michael Waltrip wasn't Dale Waltrip, etc., you can't expect father-son or siblings to be the same. Junior has always loved to ride high on the track instead of hugging the apron line. This works in draft racing, but he picks up too much debris on his tires at intermediate and short tracks

In the last 40 races Jeff still has more wins, top 5's EVERYTHING. He got off to a decent start this year but we both well know everything goes wrong for him in the long run.

He was in 2010. At Texas and again at Talladega.

Hmmm I agree, seems like the pressure of making it to the Chase is getting to Jeff Gordon. Hope Hendrick Motorsports get their engine problems squared away.

Even still, Jr. has a rear view mirror, and he knew Jeff was above him. Jr. should've waited just a tick longer before pulling up in front of him. He was already faster, so he would've cleared Jeff down the backstretch. That was a bonehead move saved by Jeff checking up. Jr. nation should be thanking Jeff for not wrecking Jr., 'cause he could've-- and honestly, IMO, he should've.

from outside it seem "why he said that" ....from inside if he keep accelerating fast air create "suction" between cars and the wreck its for sure....just aerodynamics

Look, who cares who you love or hate. These are two adults who are teammates and they can get over it. Gordon got frustrated more easily because of his terrible season, but he got over it. We all get frustrated. Junior didn't give him much room either, but he didn't wreck him, so no big deal when it's all said and done. They probably already forgot about this.

Brad Keselowski had a lot of help from his father when it came to getting into NASCAR as well, even if Jr. was only in the sport because of his dad (And he's not because even his dad would not have given him a ride if he wasn't ready) would he still have a ride if he was as bad as the haters make him out to be? No matter how much weight a person's name carries there comes a point when you have to day "Enough".

You watch Gordon at Races He will spin You Out but Most Time Your car isn't Damaged like lots drivers that Put you in wall or worse...Lol Carry On...

Well let's look at this fact: Jeff got 5 wins the past two years, which is more than Jr.'s had in the last 4. Most of the DNF's of Jeff's really weren't much of his doings. Jeff had a blown motor at Daytona. Can't really help when HMS is giving all the good motors to Jr. and he can't even win in them. Jeff wrecked at 'Dega and 3 times at Daytona. Again, not of his doing. Jr. never got caught up in a big wreck 'til the fall 'Dega race, never blew a motor 'til this year, and Jeff still beats him.

No way for Jr to know that Jeff was already 3 wide when he went inside of him. From his viewing angle he couldn't see both the #9 and 78 cars. And they go 4 wide for such a short time period it would be impossible for his spotter to really elaborate that message before it was too late. No damage done, no bitching from Jeff oligated. As Aryton Senna once said, " if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver because we are competing, we are competing to win".

1.Jr really shouldn't have made it 4 wide and Jeff lost a few spots because of it. 2.Jr is only the face of Hendrick because he is popular. 3.Jr is only popular because of his dad. 4.Jr is NOWHERE NEAR Jeff's drive ability. Jr has 2 wins in 5 years. He made the chase three times in the last 5 years. Jeff has 13 wins, made the all 5 times and finished top 5 twice.

I find it funny how some Jr. fans still hate Gordon to this day. Stans never get over it, I guess.

So? At least Jeff can win championships. Can't tell ya how many times Jr.'s cheated, or better yet his father. But the way I see it, adding something to your car that they don't catch or don't specify in the rules is fair game, whether you call it cheating or not. Jeff may be older, but this is his 21st season in NASCAR. He's getting up in years, and he's still laying down consistent finishes. He could still win the championship. What's your excuse as to why Jr. can't win a Sprint Cup?

Earnhardt is one of the most overrated people in all of sports. He is on the same team as Gordon and Johnson and he still can't win a race, but the other two have won multiple championships, and dozens of races.
