I went to see Jeff, Stu Hamm, and Billy Sheehan play at some little bar in Baltimore around 2009? After Jeffs set he sits down at the bar and asks me how he sounded? I'm like freakin out. Had a good conversation with him. Billy too. Just think both of them could have been in Van Halen and declined.

When Jeff turned to the drummer at 3:35 it went from bass shred demo to full fledged jam session.

Careful not too loud, that one guy will come over and turn your amp down. I hate going to that bass show cuz of that one amp gaurd thats always in these live videos turning legends down.

which problem? If you pick up a guitar player from the 70´s he will probably sound like Page or Hendrix, or some jazz player from that era. Maybe in the future someone will say this about Wooten

I'm not so sure " old school " applies to an instrument barely 70 yrs old. When Jeff Berlin came out nobody played bass like that. He helped create to very template so many young bass players may unknowingly have been influenced by.

Am I wrong, or has Jeff always been a Jaco P copycat/ripoff?
@kevgamble
Жыл бұрын
He has not. There are just very few people who take musicianship that far on this instrument, without relying on familiar crutches of technique.
