    Me: Wait until the absolute last minute you'll be able to do the project, preferably in the early evening when the light starts to get bad. Ensure it's raining/sleeting. Bring approximately half the tools you'll actually need but 3x the tools that you'll use. Time the work to coincide with your girlfriend and/or wife's menstrual cycle so you can receive the maximum number of interruptions in the form of angry text messages that tell you how selfish and disappointing you are. Verify there are plenty of sharp pieces of broken concrete embedded in oily mud under your TJ to completely prevent you from using a creeper. Take steps to alienate any friends who might help, or at the least, ensure they live hundreds of miles away so they can still sound sincere when they message you, "dude - wish you lived closer so I could help, brah." Do something so drastically wrong during the install that when you contact the vendor they say "oh my God - what did you do?!?" and inform you that it'll be necessary to take everything apart and start over. Etc.

    No need! An engine hoast makes alot of these jobs even easier than a lift! I rebuilt my entire jeep minus a few important small parts that I got my trusted garage to accomplish! You don't even need a spring compressor and when you get really comfortable and rebuild an entire jeep frame and also cab frame you can lift the jeep off the main frame using 2 ratchet straps on the engine hoast claspe/hook and balance it on 4 points! I wouldn't suggest that unless you have to! I was amazed how an afforable engine hoast could make life that easy because years ago I wanted to invest in a garage hydraulic lift! No need!!

    Awesome! Just got this kit! Thanks to all the tech support I may have saved money as I noticed I didn't have to spend money on new shocks! I can really appreate how much of a community these vehicals bring for people! Unlike anything I have ever seen for any other vehicals! Quality install videos! I can't wait to see how this drives with 31s

    Just a tip....i notice you fighting the bumpstop a little bit. Those "bump stop cups" have holes near the top of them. If you take a small flathead screwdriver and clear the holes out, that bump stop slides in no problem. I noticed it on mine after I sanded the rust away.

    One thing I left out was the rear track bar links were the only piece of equipment that did actually come out as it should have, that's good, one less thing!

    Just did a 1998 TJ.....Soaked daily every nut/bolt/joint basically I soaked the entire underside every night for 7 days, why am I telling you this because every nut stripped, the T50 bolts stripped out so I had to disconnect the other side of the track bar in the front, Every bump stop had to be cut out and drilled and tapped, because the T50 bolts all failed I also had to disconnect the front sway bar, only one shock was not completely cut out, 4 days with 8 bolt holes drilled and tapped but it's done and looks great with my 18" rims and 33" tires makes a total of 5" overall lift.

    Last time I did coil spacers, I legit just jacked the truck up by the frame and the used coil compressors to make space. Was stupid fast and didn't matter where the axle was.

    If you're on a tight budget and just want to get your Jeep up in the air, its a great option with good quality parts. There are a lot better lift kits out there though, especially if you plan on lifting your Jeep more than 2 inches. Rough Country usually gives you all of the basics to lift your Jeep, but most times there are extra parts you should add in. It all really comes down to you! -Zach

    @@necronomatron1880 At 2" of lift you can get away without them if you don't have room in your budget. Anything higher and I would absolutely recommend them to keep your axles centered, though. -Zach

    31? You can fit a 31 on stock suspension with no rubbing don't you mean 33 to 35s?

  • @extremeterrain

    @extremeterrain

    5 жыл бұрын

    Rough Country recommends the use of a 31" tire for optimal performance with this lift kit. That's not to say that you can't fit a 33" or 35" tall tire underneath of the Jeep with this kit, but you will most likely have to do a good bit of trimming to get proper clearance with absolutely no rubbing. Thank you for watching! -Zach
