Jeep Wrangler Frame Repair at Control Arm

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Repairing my rust bucket of a Jeep Wrangler. My process for removing and replacing the upper and lower rear control arms, cutting and removing a portion of the frame and welding on a pre-fabbed frame cap to band-aid the frame back together. This is on the rear passenger portion of a 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara but would be a very similar procedure of most other years.

Fluid film inside and out will keep it from rotting out.

@@wickedc6255 I've only taken her on a few rides since but they were some pretty good off roading rides with good bumps and flexing and they seem to be holding up just fine

How long in total did it take you to complete

@@brandonf2562 the second side went much faster because I realized I didn't need to take the side step off, and used cutting wheels from the get go instead of starting with grinding wheels. So I'd say about an hour to get the components off, 2 hours to cut, grind, and paint, an hour to weld, and an hour to put it all back together. So about 5 hours, but spread over several days. I'm sure it can be done much faster but I end up taking my time on most projects.
