Jeep Compass in an Off-Road Park (Overland Artist ep 2)
I take my 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk to Endeavor Adventure Park in Bridgeport, TX along with Seth in his 2007 FJ Cruiser and we found the perfect spot to do some plein air painting along the way.

The best crossover imo. Not everyone wants a big heavy body on frame SUV or a rock crawler since most of the time people drive on highways and would just need 4x4 for driving on lighter trails where a 2wd faced a harder time. It has good traction control and a center diff lock. Perfect for people who do light offroading and want the nimbleness of a normal road car. Regards a compass owner from India

Nice! I've seen those first gen compass's handle some gnarly stuff as well.
Ya know, you're actually a little better than 20:1 crawl because it's an automatic. With automatics it's a little bit better than rated because of the slip you get from the torque converter - it adds some slip and winds up upping the ratio.

right now I have some Nitto Grappler 235/75 r17s on it but I'm about to replace them with 245/65 r17 mud terrains because the Nittos are just a little too big.
It's always in 4WD... BUT it's automatic 4WD. The 4 wheel lock just tells it to STAY in 4wd without switching in and out automatically. And with the compass the 4 wheel low is actually just a little bit lower 1st gear. The car starts in second gear otherwise. Still , it's a very good and very capable car. My wife has the 2018 compass trailhawk and I have the 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk. The Cherokee has the "real" 4 low and a rear locker but, they're both very good. The compass gets WAY better gas mileage than the Cherokee even though mine and my wife's Jeep have the 2.4 and the 9 speed. Basically the same engine and transmission . Compass is faster and gets way better MPG. Yeah - if I had the V6 Cherokee the Cherokee would be faster but as it is, it's not.

@@OverlandArtist sure. I don't have any subscribers or videos but sure. Also , remember that the Wrangler sport has the same setup. So , I don't think it's a bad thing to just have front and back brake locking differentials if they work well. You can find videos of Wrangler sports doing absolutely insane things with these "simulated" front and rear lockers. In the past , you'd have to have mechanical front and rear lockers or front and rear limited slip differentials. I actually prefer the brake locking differentials because you are going to keep the brakes changed anyway , they're easier to inspect and probably much cheaper to replace than a limited slip differential clutch. One more thing , one of the fastest cars in the world , the McLaren , uses an open diff with brake locking... So... If someone doesn't think it's any good or thinks that it's not high performance... Think again... Other things to note : the compass and Cherokee Trailhawk vehicles , as well as the renegade are considered all wheel drive AND four wheel drive. The Wrangler sport is not... The features that the Trailhawk jeeps have they are just now introducing into the more modern Jeep Sahara's (I think that's right) and vehicles like the Ford raptor. These Trailhawk Jeeps we're ahead... Others are just now catching up - even other Jeeps !
